Such a great seminar! Annette and Jack were nailing it 🎉 TEARS to her reaction after you dropped the leash!!! 👏🥹 You’re changing lives Tom, and we’re grateful for you!!!
I have two dogs who are reactive. They always want to meet all the other dogs. One of them remembers each and every house that has a dog and he always barks as we walk by. I'm taking notes and will try all of this with them. Thank you so much for this video.
Awesome video. I really like the training feedback by attaching your leash and then letting her think you were following. What a great confidence builder once she realized the safety net wasn't there. Great job.
My dog is a perfect student in a class setting - amongst even dozens of other dogs. In the real world - such as if your dog lunged at the fence, or was acting up on his leash, or approached my dog (you can't control other people), it would be a totally different. Since he already knows no leash (prong, or otherwise) can dissuade him (that one moment of discomfort isn't even felt) - his reaction is to charge the dog - knowing I can't stop him - since he is as large and stronger than me.
Short durations, gradually lengthening with breaks and rewards. You got it. I’d maybe work on long lead first or “watch me” or anything to get good engagement if needed, I like to use watch me for eye contact personally.
@@beachlife4346 I raised and trained a Shepherd Doberman and 90 lb Pit mixed who walked off leash. This guy is totally different from them and their mind set. I think I have to get reactiveness under control first. He has it super bad!!
@@mimime5376 Sounds like this one is reactive and others were not. His people? Its not your dog? If that is the case then its not at all the same there either if I understand you right.
@@beachlife4346Thank you for pointing out the “His people” wording. I have no clue where that came from! No one else is involved. I adopted him almost five weeks ago.
Tom and team, this is such good and helpful content. Thankyou for being generous with this. Guna be using this trick to help my kids learn how to handle. So good, big thanks from aotearoa 👍
Please come to the UK!! Me and my 3 year old English Setter rescue could do with some help on our recall and heel work (need to get that done before we can move on to working on dog reactivity).
I need your help Tom, do you have any contests that offer free training? I'm in in Los Angeles and got my dog 8mos ago. She's reactive to other dogs. I want to be able to take my dog on walks anywhere anytime without worry of seeing other dogs. I'm exhausted of managing with no end. Help please!
Border collies are the hardest dog to maintain their attention span, all they are thinking about is how much they want to be hyper active. They want to be on speed dial all the time. Hard as heck to calm down . Seems their setting is “on or off.”

Putting the leash on the owners wrist was genius!!!
In the moment 🤔💭
I’m so happy for her, made me tear up. Great job!
Thanks for watching
Thanks for the free content Tom we appreciate you

This is what I miss seeing! More of these please!
Good teaching and good client makes a super good result . 👏
👍✅
Tom - leashing the owner!!! Genius - I’m gonna start doing that 👏👏👏👏👏
This is one of the best videos. I love the cheer from everyone!
Great atmosphere here! When the professor enjoys, everybody winning.🖐️😄

I guess I should TRY to teach my dog to heal!! I honestly don’t think this can be done but I’m going to give it my all! 😊❤️🙏🏼

If you don't think its possible it won't be. They read your emotions if you aren't believing you can they won't follow your lead.

Love your videos. Do have one about reactivity to small children?
Good Job! All round! Xx
Thanks!!
Annette’s joy! 🫶🏻
Thank you so much 💛💛💛💛
Got to use that leash on the wrist trick next time I train with some of my foster families.
Pulled it out of nowhere
Fantastic! Thanks. I have GSDx with similar anxiety as Jack.

Love the leash drop!
Brilliant 👏 🐾 ❤
It's barking dogs, cussing her out, that causes the reactivity. The quiet , calm dogs are not a problem.

Hows burleigh doing with the other dogs?.
Please come visit Seoul! We’ve now restored our democracy :p. Need your training tips in person!!
I would have guessed maybe the lab was a little stressed by the prong collar?
No
If do an outside turn , away from another dog, my dog continues to look back. What can I do at that point?
You can pop the collar a little to encourage engagement with you
@tomdavisofficial Thank you sir
I wish I had you around for my Rottweiler in puberty, but you are sooo far away. 😢
Wanna work with a 1 yr old boerboel?
He is a great dog,
just reactive .
Still trying to figure out if he is aggressive like wanting to kill dogs.
Or just protective.
Calm duck 65
Calm mother 39
If thats hard with your dog, please dont have kids😂❤
She's 65
I am a preschool teacher with two kids of my own and a reactive BORDER COLLIE, all the kids are easier than my dog😂😂
