I’m doing a road trip in 3 weeks ( early Nov 2023) from Jersey to Tampa in a rented Model 3 , I’ve done numerous roadtrip over the years , 7 trips to California from NJ and 2 prior trips to FL but never in a Tesla . I’ve driven the Model 3 before - all rentals from Hertz so I know what to expect and how they drive. Excited to hit the open road , it will be approximately 2200 + miles round trip.
Beautiful countryside there, clouds in the blue skies and green wide open land. These road trips are great travelogues for us not familiar with the area. Do some more of them and go West like the Shenandoah valley. Ok that's not very west but it's open country again, I hope. Cheers and drive safely.
25:17 I thought I was the only weirdo holding my steering wheel like this when driving on autopilot 😂 I also hover/rest my foot on the accelerator both methods work fantastic
With the std range LFP, I average 235 kWh/mile highway (it appears) but the fastest the car will take a charge is 178kwh but actually rarely more than 150 for more than a couple minutes so I try to find the 150kwh locations as they are usually less busy especially during holidays. That's 100 miles in ten minutes. 135 in 15 minutes. Haven't stayed 20 minutes yet ever.
Love this. We took a trip from central Arkansas to Fort Knox. A mini-road-trip by comparison, but since we only had the MY LR for a month this was good to break us in. Looking forward to our next long adventure. What all did you have setup in your vehicle for recording the trip? Where did you get the stats between stops that you posted at the top of the page?
I went on a small 600 mile trip late last year and it had me itching to just road trip. I plan on, within the next 12 months, just driving west. No clue where I'll go, just drive.
I was really curious about road tripping in a tesla, this really helped, and is a reason at least for me plug-in hybrid or hybrid is about my only option.. i can usually make it 725 miles on a tank of gas.. usually i have to stop for food or bathroom before fuel, but having to stop for 30min every 150 miles at 1.00 a minute sounds terrible and really expensive.. be about the same price as getting 20mpg in a gas car..
I'm really curious on even-longer trips, say 24 hours+, if it's possible to get enough short naps while charging, to avoid having to get a hotel room. I know, so many variables, but am hoping to try it for myself once I get a Y. Good time to hit Disney as wait-times in line are record-low.
Yeah wait times, excluding really popular rides, were 30 minutes or less. I've seen videos of people napping at superchargers, during very long road trips, but the one that comes to mind was serval years ago when 250s weren't as common.
thanks for all the help your videos been great and very informative. Plus, I will check out your site for accessories. But my question is, are you using FSD beta or enhanced Autopilot ? your thoughts using them.
Man…I got a black MYP - I take road trips from Vegas to San Diego and La often and my car looks like a mess…yours is all shiny after hundreds of mile. Secret please???? Lol
HI! New Model Y performance owner here :) I noticed you charged up to 99% at beginning of roundtrip and go down as low as 9%, I thought you weren't supposed to charge past 90% and not let it get lower than 20%-15%? Am I wrong? Please help :) THANK YOU!!!
I feel like whenever tesla youtubers try and include their gf or wife in the videos they don't even wanna be in it they always seem like they have attitude or just don't want to put up with the guy lol
Great videos, but as someone who lived in Valdosta, GA for 12 years, I cringed at how badly you slaughtered the cities’ names. “Macon” is pronounced like “Bacon”. They used to have a minor league hockey team whose mascot was the Whooping Cranes. They were named the “Macon Whoopie”. “Valdosta” is pronounced “val-DAH-sta”, not “val-DOE-sta” or “vald-OSTA”.
Do you seriously not have anything you like that you do not have a "code" for? Seems to be a common trend amongst people and it is hard to believe anything you recommend when you only recommend what you have a code for, which kicks you back a %.
Wtf are you on about? I own a Tesla accessories store. I have linked products from competing stores that I like. I have an Amazon affiliates where I can link anything in the world. Why wouldn’t I link stuff I genuinely use and recommend?

"Flordia Man" lol hope yall had a nice time! Just got back from Disney/Universal a couple of weeks ago as well.
Grey supercharger = no stalls available at this time. That’s what I deduced on my recent 6+ hour road trip.

The scream I let when you said “Ma-con” 💀
I laughed as well. It’s Macon, like Bacon with an M.

i would love to do a trip like this with my tesla but don't know where to go. Hope you had fun!
Pick a place, any place. Enjoy the journey.

If you're in the US, visit historical sites, plenty of those scattered everywhere
Drive to the west coast assuming you live in the east coast
Really enjoyed the road trip. When will part 2 be uploaded
Thank you so much for sharing! I can't wait to do another Tesla trip myself. Do you know how much you spent on charging round trip?
At the end of the video is the supercharging stats and price

Do you always recommend using the phones gps as well? I’m new to the Tesla gang and was wondering why most people use both. Thanks!

Lizards. Haha! Last time I was in Florida. 2 Iguanas the size of weiner dogs, just casually walked across the street, and climbed up a tree.
how epic video- goodnight. :)

Wow that hurt. As soon as you said he was 24 and never seen the ocean 😢. I felt bad
I can tell this guy has only lived in small town rural areas. He loves his own little world.
Is the Enhanced Auto-Pilot just as good as the FSD (at least for now)? I'm thinking of going with that instead of the FSD for a brand new model 3.
Man…I got a black MYP - I take road trips from Vegas to San Diego and La often and my car looks like a mess…yours is all shiny after hundreds of mile.
Secret please???? Lol
