    Just got a pair. They’re the most comfy pair of running shoes I’ve ever owned. The landing when I’m jogging is so soft & I actually felt like I could go a bit further than I normally do. Love it so far.

    For me, because I live in Greece🇬🇷, the wet tarmac is not a problem and these are perfect shoes for Greeks who prefer VFM products!!! Bought it! Thanks for the advice!!! Also, I'm running at most for 35'/day, so the other problem won't be something too hard for me, I suppose 😁

    Greatest review! Very good running shoes for the price! Just bought a pair this week (on sale at around 70 usd), and as mentioned they are also good for wide feet (as they seem to adapt after first usage), responsive on dry, comfy, seem versatile, stable, lightwight, felt like flying BUT the biggest problem as you mentioned is so true, very slippery on light wet conditions (similar to running during winter when ground is frozen), but I knew the downsize when buying after watching your video, and accepted the compromise for the price! Thanks!

    I own two pair that I constantly interchange. I run A LOT. But I absolutely love them. I have had both pairs for 7 months. Which is too long. I am planning on buying two more this week. I recommend anyone to get these shoes. But I completely agree about the treading in the wet. More specifically, wet wooded terrain.

      Yeah they are a great shoe! I’m planning on buying another pair pretty soon. I’ve put over 800 miles on mine now so they are in need of retirement. I’ve found the tread has got slightly better the more I’ve worn them down but it’s still not the best

    I once ran in the rain with the winflo 7. The loss of traction is just insane. Honestly, people, if your city rains a lot. DO NOT BUY THIS. It can be a deal breaker

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  3 роки тому +4

      Yeah, it is shocking the difference in traction between the dry and wet! Now that we are heading into winter I'm most likely going to put these shoes away until March. Maybe bring them out for the treadmill if it gets icy outside but I can't see them getting too much use for the remainder of the year. Definitely a summer shoe.

    • @zaim413
      @zaim413 3 роки тому +1

      I wonder what makes it so slippery, i would have guessed it to have good traction from looking at the sole. I ordered a winflo 7 and a react and was considering to keep the winflo specifically because react is just foam at the bottom and I imagine it glides like a skate on a wet surface.

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  2 роки тому

      I'm not sure I agree. I think this is a shoe that works very well for recovery runs and easy miles so could be used by pro athletes. Especially if they like Nike shoes. It's probably not the race shoe they would choose as they're most likely to opt for a Supershoe but for training this is a great option.

    In regards to slippery soles, I find that after 20-30 miles after rubber compound has been "skored" its factory smooth rubber is gone and the newfound rubber has some grit for traction.
    This has worked for North Face UltraTR with Vibram rubber, Pegasus 34, 36, and Winflo 5. Would you say the heel is wider on Winflo 7 versus Pegasus 36?

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  3 роки тому

      interesting! I found the same however it took closer to 400 miles for the outsoles on mine to find their grip. Yes i think the heel is slightly wider and offers a little bit more stabilisation.

  • @rishabbennett
    @rishabbennett 3 роки тому +1

    This might sound quite dumb cause im new to the whole running game...and i run a lot on treadmills....so would you recommend these for a treadmill use case?? Loved the detail on the video btw!

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  3 роки тому +5

      Not a dumb question at all!
      I haven't used these on a treadmill since Covid as I haven't had access to one. However they should work well on a treadmill, the majority of road running shoes are fine for use with a treadmill.
      With a treadmill, you just want to avoid any shoes that have a particularly aggressive tread. The tread on the Winflo 7 will be absolutely fine and you should get good traction with them.
      Hope this helps. Glad you liked the review :)

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  3 роки тому +1

      Hi, thanks!
      I don't think there is a weight limit for these shoes. When I first had these I weighed 74kg (11.6 stone / 163lb) and I currently weigh 66kg (10.4 stone 145lb) at both weights these shoes felt great to run in!
      I think a heavier runner would probably wear the shoes out slightly faster however I have run almost 700 miles in these shoes now and they are now getting to the end of their life so I believe any runner at any weight should get at least 450-500 miles out of them.

      As you are slightly above the standard size it would be worth thinking about how wide your feet are and maybe going half a size up.

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  3 роки тому +4

      I also have wide feet and these have been very comfortable!
      Compared to the Pegasus these are a slightly stiffer shoe. They are a little bit heavier and have a smaller offset.
      I haven't run in the Legend React however they have the same midsole as the Epic React which I have used. I prefer the midsole on the Winflo 7 to the Epic React as it has great cushioning but is still very responsive.
      Can't comment on the Adidas or Asics unfortunately, as I haven't run in either shoe.
      I have a review for the Epic React so maybe give that a skim through because it might give some insight on the Legend React! ua-cam.com/video/Kd1lEtQGHS8/v-deo.html

      The Legend React is wide foot friendly. I had the two, the outsole was very durable, react basically never dies (my epic react had 500mi before I retired them). They're an excellent budget version of the infinity. I'm more of a narrow footer and there was a lot of room in the shoe. The Pegasus line is narrower so I'd look for them in wide. The Legend React is the best choice in my opinion especially for very casual runners.

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  3 роки тому +1

      So the legend will have the react midsole which is quite a soft cushioning however it isn’t the most responsive. The Winflo 7 has an air zoom cushioning which still has a good amount of cushion but is more responsive and gives a little more road feel. For me I prefer the air zoom midsole over the react. @@khushvardhansingh7923 it depends on how you run? The Winflo 7 aren’t necessarily better they are just different. If you want a shoe that is a little bit more versatile and allows you to do more speed training then I would pick the Winflo 7. They are also very durable. Since filming this review I have taken these shoes up to about 700 miles without any issues. If you like to feel the ground a bit when you run and push the speed get the Winflo 7. If you don’t need to push the speed very much and just looking for an every day running shoe the legends will do you well 👍

      Unfortunately, I didn't know about the traction issues before I bought them. However, I did buy them in the summer and used then as my main running shoe throughout the summer when it was dry and they worked great. Also found that the traction improved after about 300 miles. I go through shoes in about 2 months due to the volume of training, so still got very good use out of these. I stopped using them after 600 miles.

    Winflo 7 or Pegasus 37 please? What's your take?

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  3 роки тому +1

      So I would say the Winflo is a slightly stiffer shoe compared to the Pegasus. The Pegasus has a better outsole for wet conditions and slightly better breathability.
      I like the Winflo because it is quite stiff, especially around the heel. I have a lot of hills by me so the extra stability is nice for downhill running.
      I haven't run in Pegasus 37's for a long while so I'm going to buy a pair soon and see how they feel.

    I have them, they feel terrible. I had winflo 5 and they were fantastic, these are narrow on the toes, ugly, uncomfortable. Nike is not evolving, on the contrary, they made it deliberately worse so you will have to spend 300€ on alphafly.

    • @BobThomasUltra
      @BobThomasUltra  3 роки тому

      Shame you don’t like them. I’ve actually found the longer I’ve had them the more I like them. I didn’t ever try the Winflo 5 but have heard good things. I don’t think they make them deliberately worse I do think they try to cut cost as much as possible on their cheaper shoes which can result in some duds in the line up. However I feel these or more of a hidden gem than a dud.

    • @andreac5152
      @andreac5152 3 роки тому

      @@BobThomasUltra thank you, but I feel betrayed, they have nothing in common with winflo5. I took half number more than usual and the space for the toes is simply not enough, that's a fact. Why change the shape of a shoe to cause more constriction to your toes? I'm sure nobody likes that.
      And it's a fact that they worsen pronation. Just putting them on I could see my feet fall toward pronation. It wasn't happening with winflo5 and it's not a problem of quality but of the shape you choose to give a shoe.
