After listening to Stephen A respond, I totally agree with him. He is spot on. He made some great points which were facts. Most companies do what ESPN did including where I work. They have done it many times and still doing it. I've seen great and talented colleagues got laid off. I'm not a big fan of ESPN, but I do watch from time to time, specially First Take.
