Great video! Need to show my wife who will be my caregiver post-op in about 2 weeks. Note several comments from people living alone. My hospital won’t do the surgery unless you have a verifiable caregiver for the first 2 weeks post-op. This video confirms at least one reason why!
That was very helpful video , I wish that I knew about the Isolating pad & where to get it . It’s been few weeks now I am still using it & love this Ice Machine
Theyork1211 I had labrum and bankart repair surgery 2 years ago. Still has not healed and hurts 24 hours a day. Had mri and follow ups and was told it’s repaired. Everything from the scapula to labrum feels disconnected and constant clicking everywhere. Any tips?
This is nuts, everything requires TWO/2 !!! Hands !!! I live alone. I know I'm not the only one. My Doctor ordered me one of these to save me trips to the freezer now it looks like just as much trouble. I Really Appreciate the video especially about the straps but now I'm worried about the rest.
This would be great. If you had someone that you lived with that could help you, significant other but when you live alone, there’s no way you could do that after shelter surgery on your own.
Nope. Read the instructions and you'll see that 1) you add water before ice, and 2) you don't plug in the power until after the cuff is connected. If you follow the order suggested by this video you run the risk of RUNNING THE PUMP DRY which can RUIN IT. This is especially important if you paid for the unit out of pocket. Breg's warranty doesn't cover misuse.
I live ALONE & am going to be going through this soon. Looks like a NIGHTMARE. And what do you do, just sit there with this thing 24/7? Wonderful...( & I'm from the Boston area & don't CARE about their "accents", which most of the comments seem to be in regard to...)☹️
@@PennyQuiterio That's ok, had the surgery in Feb., got thru it, in fact the only way I knew the nerve block wore off(after 14 hrs.) was because I could move my fingers- had very little pain & only took Tylenol alternating w/aspirin (I can't take ibuprofen); did not take the oxycodone that was prescribed, I find it doesn't work well for me. Used the ice machine all of first nite home & on/off for the first 48 hrs. Way too bulky & a pain refilling the ice, so after 2 days switched to my ice packs from freezer, worked just as well. I am now doing rehab, in fact just went to a session this morning.
If you've just had shoulder surgery you would be unable to lift your arm. Every video I've seen applying would have these has the patient listed their arm
I was thinking the same thing, plus , this is kind of embarrassing but I am kind of busty so the strap across the chest may be a problem for me😶I'm having my surgery next month, I will do whatever I'm told to be pain free again!

Thank you! I have received this on loan from my sister. You really explained how to use it.

Yeah, agree. The Aircast Cryo/cuff looks like it would be doable but you’d need to practice before getting the surgery.
I didn’t use ice I froze 3 bottles of water and put water into in up to the water fill line and it worked perfect
Can you show how to put one on one handed while sling is on?
I just had shoulder surgery. Having complications. I'm Irish. Love the accent 😍 Love and Respect ladies from Portland Oregon USA

That was a wicked awesum video
I have had one when I had surgery on my right knee
I love how I could tell they were Boston without even seeing who was putting out the video lol! "place the strap heah" Lol! Boston
can they both come to my house soon? would be great to have them sleep over for a month or two.
Hey that's how I talk! I moved to Western Mass and people know right away I'm not from thayeh(Hey it's how I tawk, lol).
How does this work while wearing an immobilizer? I wouldn't remove the immobilizer, right?

It depends on doctors orders, but suggestion is 20mins every hour

Love the accent! Thanks!
Is this a nurse training video or a video of just a pre-surgery instructions?
Now I want her to show us on herself with one arm
Do they make a machine that doesn’t require ice?
So helpful, thank you!
Very instructional. Thanks.

My boyfriend just had surgery and they didn't give him anything

I use frozen water bottles instead of ice cubes. I think it gets just as cold and lasts longer
Lol, "We want to slip your ahm in ..." Jk. Helpful video. Thank you.
The thick strap that goes under the armpit looks very stiff and uncomfortable.

Put a folded washcloth under it to pad it.
They need to make a smaller strap for women.
Yea but you cant move your arm like that soo soon.
The most Boston accent I’ve ever heard.
So this is probably not something a single person can do.
Sq🥲
Very hard to tell how to do the fucking straps. Thanks for speeding through that part and having it zoomed out too.
