    I'm 20 and had my top surgery almost 4 months ago on October 6th. I wish I would've known about the zits cuz they freaked me out i stg. Also massive tip, if you're doctor perscribes you 2 different forms of laxatives, USE BOTH. Don't be dumb like i was and think it was a mistake and only use one. The consequences are not fun😅.

    very useful and informative video! I had top surgery a year ago and although i knew these were topics i had to take into account, i wish i were more persistent on talking about it with my surgeon/insurance company. both of them kind of brushed it off which made me feel like i was being annoying. i hope that in the future there will be third parties available that you can consult for information and that help you to gather the right info from doctors, insurance companies,… because i feel that right now we’re not taken seriously. an (older) adult who knows what they’re talking about would have made the whole administration a lot easier!!

      a third party like mediator for insurance companies/surgeons and their patients would be soooo nice if it worked properly, that’s a good idea!! i was young when i got top surgery so i definitely felt like when i spoke to the insurance company they treated me a bit badly because a) i was still a teen and b) im trans LOL

    Hi cool video, I will have my top surgery in 4 months, im so excited, although I have a concert planned like 3 weeks after, do you think its going to be possible if I am careful enough?

    • @aktdoa
      @aktdoa  Рік тому +5

      honestly i wouldn’t recommend it unless you have seats. standing in the pit, w people fighting to get closer, standing in line for hours, etc etc it doesn’t sound like a good time. if you’re set on going i’d talk to your surgeon for their opinion on what to do

    Thank you for the useful information, there’s not much out there and I can never get my questions answered on a simple google search. After top surgery how long is it until you can drive? And how long until I can walk my dogs? Sorry for the dumb questions but it’s something I’m really curious about haha

    • @aktdoa
      @aktdoa  Рік тому +1

      no worries! i would say walking your dogs (depending how big they are and how much they pull) would be around the same time as exercise? because you have to hold onto them and control them etc.
      as for driving, it’s a long time ago so i’m not sure but i think i started driving after 1 month? because i had a small car so it didn’t take much to turn the wheel etc. but you should 10000% consult with your surgeon!! they will know best :)

    Getting top surgery soon, very very scared for surgery.. This is my first surgery ever, any tips for calming the body? And preparing the mind?

      firstly, congrats on your upcoming surgery! that's so exciting :) i would practice some mindfulness and stretching, making sure your body is nice and relaxed leading up to the procedure while simultaneously taking the time to get in touch with your own emotions and understanding why this moment means so much to you!

    I'm 2 months post op and my chest is SO TIGHT it hurts. Can't go out for more than like 5 hours at a time. Did you have a similar experience? Does it ever go away? :') I'm massaging, but the muscles in my chest are just.. ouch.

    • @aktdoa
      @aktdoa  Рік тому +2

      my muscles were tight but not to the degree of yours it sounds like…i purposely started scar care asap to avoid that from happening :O what type of care are you doing?

    • @monsterfckr
      @monsterfckr Рік тому

      @@aktdoa it's especially bad when I stressed idk why, maybe I should massage more, but due to other reasons I'm really hesitant with that :/ I'm massaging, putting silicone tape on my scars and I'm covering my nipples, so they don't rub on my shirts still 💀 but I also can't move as much as others yet, maybe I'm too careful

    i wish i knew a nipple could be upside-down XD and 2 tone i call myself bi racial nips

    • @Twistedgrimm
      @Twistedgrimm Рік тому +1

      he put my wrap on too tight i have asthma and fractured ribs for too long and so my left pec is concaved and my nipple on left is small and flat and looks like a angle disc shape and my right nip is longer firm i would say more normal but its 2 tone lol other then that no complaints surgeon ghosted he knew i was gonna say something i am always nice and thats a point you brought up no such thing when its basically perm and also recovery i love pain but it kicked my butt i could only stomach granola and was in too much pain to go to bathroom so my bowls shut dwn and suffer in chest and stomach pain i was not given meds i had to beg my primary the surgeon said just take Tylenol XD smh 🤦‍♂ i had my bittys yeeted and I'm supposed to take the same meds people use for a headache 😂 4mg too btw it lasted but i had definitely prioritize if my pain was what is existence bad or just i got surgically altered bad to avoid having to ask them for anything and i took care of myself it was hard as well and the mental battles that can happen can be hard when you know how you want it too look and you're tempted to peek and you cant till the doc so anxiety and even the healing can be triggering that not alot of people point out when you get double incisions with drains not to put anyone off but just my experience i was happy my chest was flat i lost weight in a few hours lol but mentally i felt like doctor oc from Spiderman or a creature hooked to a machine with tubes from thriller movies its rough stuff and not to say everyone looks at it this way but thats how i felt no lie i loved my chest and still do concave crooked two-tone and all but as he said social media is sugar coating it and thats why i feel alot of trans identity people struggle in the first few months of getting information to figure out if top surgery is right for them what i did and you dont have to do this i looked up the risks for my particular surgery so i knew what to do to lower them b4 hand then i watched how its done so i knew what i was signing up for after that if you still feel the pros outweigh the cons recovery will be nothing your already golden in the 1st part of a 2 part battle love the videos man cheers
