This is our largest chicken coop to date. The run size is 24'x34' with a henhouse/shed that is 10'x18'. It was built on location in Santa Fe, NM over 45 days. Virtually all the materials were purchased locally in Santa Fe.
The large chicken coop has many features of our Craftsman Coop such as pull out storage drawers and feeder hoppers, plus new features, such as two separate henhouses with communication doors, loft storage in addition to extra storage underneath the henhouse.
The run is also divided and has an area just for roosters if necessary.
The build was challenging because of the sheer size of the coop and many of the details involved aren't visible in the finished product. The customer will not be able to free range their flock, so size and the ability to create a healthy environment for the chicken was critical.

I'm a contractor and i can understand that this was a massive job to say the least. The attention to detail and the craftsmanship for a chicken coop is next to none. The hen house looks like furniture. The door gaps are beautiful and I even noticed you caulked all the board and bantam. That 1/2" wire is pulled tight! It looks like you guys painted this entire structure by hand but i hope you sprayed it and back rolled it .. so much paint and cutting in. In regards to storm shields .. the customer should've incorporated some kind of roll up/ down steel doors tucked into the outer eve's on the long sides and maybe something inside on the ends. I hope they run some water misters out there to keep the dust down and the chick cool. Anyway, you guys never seize to amaze. 46 days to do this is pretty dang quick. Awesome job guys!

@@CarolinaCoopsVideos I also wanted to share with you a really cool and simple way for attaching storm windows without screws extremely fast and effortless. I suggest you look into "Sign Spring a.k.a SNAP FRAMES" .. these are what poster and billboard companies use. Trust me.. it's a game changer and you'll love em

@@matttafakt why not just use storm window snaps? Would be cheaper and easier to fit to any size and lot less effort then screws that over time strip out from being put in and taken out yearly. Just a thought
This is really impressive. I think calling this a "coop" is quite the understatement. Perhaps it's a chicken hacienda, estate, or mansion?

yes its noticeable in the landscape- BUT its natural looking in the landscape and doesn't stick out like something more traditionally styled or colonial styled, its very well suited of a style for the area its built in. Thank you and please thank the owner for allowing the design to be shared.

One idea is to section off parts to grow fresh grass. Rotate them
So they have fresh greens & allow the insects&’worms to lay eggs & hatch. The chickens will love it!
Or you could make fodder boxes using the 1/2" mesh on top, could even make it a wiking system so you put water in once a week or something. That way it less work for you and the chickens won't kill off the grass as long as the box is high enough so they can't pull the hole grass sprout out and you don't need to use grass either barley, wheat what ever. Best part won't need to rotate.

I asked hubby for a henhouse and he build a chicken palace....for us it was 12x16x12 and it was awesome! This one is awesome!
I like that there's separate rooms. Sometimes part of the flock doesn't get along with each other. And we have sentimental senior citizen chickens that can benefit from being near, but safely separate the rest of the flock.
That's a great point. Also if there is any chicken that is recovering from an injury, they are safe but not away from the rest of the flock. Thanks for your insightful comment.

These chickens are pampered.
I absolutely love your coops. They are so well designed. I have a suggestion on window dowel system (if you haven't heard it already). I use barrel bolt latches to hold open the doors. It is the same concept as the dowels, but they are metal and are more convenient to use.
Beautiful chicken coop. The separate areas are necessary for introducing pullets to the flock, hospitalising a sick hen or separating broody hens etc. Superb craftsmanship again from Carolina Coops Congratulations and thank you for sharing this video

So , my question is you only have six feeding portals so will the chickens line up and wait their turn to eat or what??
Because from what I have seen it can be an eating frenzy when chickens get hungry .....

Chickens give so much to the world, not just in terms of food, but now, more and more people just enjoy watching them for relaxation. I love it, I think it is beautiful and very functional. I actually like the idea of combining two coops into one, not only so that you can have more birds and more room for them to be able to move around, but also so that you can have hens and roosters. I love the separated rooms in the front so that you can have more than one rooster and be able to separate them if needed. I don't know a lot about raising chickens and turkeys yet, but it is something that I would do, and I would also have a large coop with the addition of being able to have a water catchment system. Thank you so much for sharing all of your coop designs with all of us, I just love watching your tours and hearing your explanations of all the components and why they are necessary. Dam it man ,,, NOW that's a chicken COOP ! must lay golden eggs , and a time out room for the roosters , all those chickens need is a water fall and a martini bar , loved the space to store stuff in the run area , good idea
