Die Landschaftsmalerei hat in den Niederlanden ihren Ursprung. Der Realismus der Alten Meister des 17. Jahrhunderts blieb der Maßstab. Mit der in Frankreich entwickelten Malerei unter freiem Himmel erhielten die niederländischen Maler des 19. Jahrhunderts neue Impulse. Die Ausstellung Wolken und Licht. Impressionismus in Holland zeigt vom 8. Juli bis zum 22. Oktober 2023, wie sich Künstlerinnen und Künstler durch die französischen Einflüsse zu einer ganz eigenen, holländischen Form des Impressionismus inspirieren ließen.
Die Ausstellung „Wolken und Licht. Impressionismus in Holland“ versammelt rund 100 Werke von etwa 40 Künstlerinnen und Künstlern, darunter Johan Barthold Jongkind, Vincent van Gogh, Jacoba van Heemskerck und Piet Mondrian. Zu den Leihgebern gehören das Rijksmuseum und das Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, das Kunstmuseum Den Haag, das Dordrechts Museum, das Kröller Müller-Museum in Otterlo und das Singer Museum in Laren.

Clouds and Light: Impressionism in Holland
Landscape painting originated in Holland, and the realism of the seventeenth-century Old Masters long set the standard. With the development of pleinair painting in France, nineteenth-century Dutch artists found new inspiration. The exhibition Clouds and Light: Impressionism in Holland will show from July 8 to October 22, 2023, how artists were inspired by French influences to create their very own Dutch form of Impressionism.
The exhibition "Clouds and Light: Impressionism in Holland" brings together around a hundred works by some forty artists including Johan Barthold Jongkind, Vincent van Gogh, Jacoba van Heemskerck, and Piet Mondrian. Lenders include the Rijksmuseum and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam, the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, the Dordrechts Museum, the Kröller Müller-Museum in Otterlo, and the Singer Museum in Laren.
