  • Edvard Munch's art is known for its vivid depictions of deeply human feelings. However over half of his paintings were landscapes or landscape-themed. In this video, you can learn more about Munch's fascination with nature and his diverse depictions of nature ranging from coastlines and fairytale forests to snow-covered or stormy landscapes and luxuriant gardens.
With art experts Jay A. Clarke (Curator, Clark Art Institute, Williamstown, USA), Tone Hansen (Director, MUNCH, Oslo), Jill Lloyd (Guest Curator, Museum Barberini, Potsdam), Trine Otte Bak Nielsen (Curator, MUNCH, Oslo), Ortrud Westheider (Director, Museum Barberini, Potsdam).

Terrific video. This gave me a broader understanding of Munchs work and legacy! Having been fortunate to visit the Munch Museum, I saw many works that one would expect. Ohh, the landscapes are very tender, lush color, and new to me! Will they be shown in NYC?!
