I am 64 years old, fairly active in that I can do 6 to 8 mile hike, with a few small hills, with no issues. I have a goal to climb Old Rag, and my son, who has climb it 3 times, assures me I can do it. I intend to take the fire road up and down initially, as I really want to make it. I enjoyed your video, as it is funny, but also informative.
@@marviedouglas7375 I actually had the opportunity to take the hike about a month ago. Idid it!! Rock scramble and all. I will say had my son not been with me, I may not of been able to complete it. I definitely needed his help in 3 places. It was wonderful. I look forward to doing it again.
@@tinawantland398 That's great! I used to give guided tours of Old Rag when I was in college, and people do overstate the danger. Even the rock scramble isn't especially technically difficult, even compared to other east coast climbs. Most of the older people that I led were able to make it to the peak.
s-s-s-subscribe! nice touch! haha i'm going to hike this soon, wish me luck! i definitely don't expect to beat y'all's time! whenever i've done sections of the AT, i have always underestimated it, but i'm not gonna underestimate this one.
Great video, but it looked empty. Even in the rain I expected to see some people around.
Awesome video! I hiked it in Nov of 22. Alot of water and Ice up there. NOT recommended. The shark at the end of the video made me jump!
Thanks!
Loved the commentary and edit additions.
LOL Thanks for the belly laughs my man. SO good.

Did this in Boy Scouts.
How much water is needed during the summer?
Definitely want to bring a couple bottles per person
U cheated anyways bc u took the fire trial down. If you do the trial down, double your time. Ima do it in the morning and try to do it my fastest.
