Then she says she was too “traumatized” to babysit ever again despite having zero interaction with the intruder and making the kids fend for themselves while she bailed. Yes Courtney S. You are the real “victim” in this story, not the kids you bailed on

I actually like going camping alone in remote areas with no cellphone reception. I always have some guns on me, but generally the places I go to are remote enough that I am more worried about mountain lions and bears than actual serial killers. My grandparents had a cabin up in the mountains when I was a kid and a walnut ranch which were more creepy than camping in more remote areas. I had a mountain lion scratch at the door in the middle of the night at the ranch which I thought was some kids playing a joke and I went out the side to sneak up on them and saw the Mountain Lion at the front door. As a kid I used to sleep out on the porch at the cabin with everyone else inside the cabin and I never really thought how easy it would have been for me to be kidnapped given it was at an active lake with a lot of people going in and out of the area. That first story is just so ridiculous. I babysit my brother all the time and sure, I've gotten freaked out a few times by what he's said or just overall the vibe of my grandma's house but he's my number one priority in the event of anything happening. Even if he wasn't my brother, I'd treat the situation with the same care and urgency if someone or something became a threat to the kid's safety. If I was the parent of those kids you best believe I'd be absolutely outraged that the babysitter wasn't even in the same building as them. You're there to watch and protect those children, not to lounge about while the kids deal with themselves. Sure, being able to relax can be a perk to a job like that, but in the end your responsibility is to watch those kids and make sure they're safe. At the very least, you could have stayed in the main house and compromised having the volume lower so you could keep an eye on the kids!! And the cherry on top is that the OP didn't even leave the pool house until the kids got themselves to safety. Brave isn't a word to describe this asshole of a babysitter. I'm sorry if I'm being harsh, but the OP should have done so much more. Babysitters like this are the reason I'm willing to drop anything to babysit my brother so nothing like this neglectful bullshit can happen in the first place.
You're not being harsh at all. She should be ashamed of her cowardice in the face of her young charges' welfare. She did nothing brave, and if I was the parents I would not invite her back.
I agree she should've remained in the main house. Idk if the parents gave her permission to go the the pool house once they were asleep, or to have a glass of wine after they were in bed (which I dont see as a huge deal if she only had one) but I'm guessing she thought the intercom system made everything safer. I just always felt way more safe way out in the middle of nowhere than those two places.

Locks only slow down a determined person. It does give you warning that someone is attempting to break in, though, so they do have their uses. It's just not going to be 100% protection. You could always put something heavy in front of your door. Or install a lock. Or get a gun and learn how to use it if you're old enough.

They chose to be irresponsible and have fun over raising their own kids. They chose to be cheap and hired an airhead over doling out the money for a responsible babysitter. FAFO.

6:40 idk how the hell Mr. Nightmare read that with a straight face the first time. "Bravest thing I had ever done." How the hell can you compliment yourself? Those kids showed more bravery. I am done 🤣🤣🤣
Story 2 is very strange. The fact that there was people who were in the woods the whole time makes you wonder why they were there. Especially when they were snooping around the campground in the middle of the night.
True! Idk about you but my insides screamed during that story that if I have a gun I need to fire it in that situation haha. Dude whistles outside the tent and all he gets is a few rifle rounds
The part that gets me is no one with any experience would go camping like this without protection. A dog would do nothing against an angry or hungry bear. A high caliber gun, shotgun or bearspray would be part of the supplies. Then someone goes through your campsite and all you do is move. This seems too stupid to be real

Wow, story #1 was a wild ride 😂 Even before the intruder, she was a 💩 sitter.
Staying in the guest house, watching a movie while FaceTiming drunk friends. And she was about to drink herself… Honestly, the parents could’ve just had a nanny cam for the kids and left them alone. That would’ve been more effective than her 😂
When the man showed up, and she left the poor kids to fend for themselves, that really took it up a notch! 😭
Babysitter should’ve never left the main house to go to the pool house. You don’t leave kids unattended like that.
Having 3 assorted horror stories from Mr. Nightmare is great, because it's like you're spinning a wheel on a game show, but each of the outcomes is a win because it's Mr. Nightmare :)
Story 1 :
Should've done her job! Why is she across an estate in a separate part of the property. Hell she made herself a neighbor instead of watching the kids! That whole situation is on Her. If she hadn't left the main house the door would've never been opened in the first place.
Wow that babysitter needs to get a different job. Not even in the same building as the kids. She did nothing to keep them safe, but called herself brave for meeting them outside after the kids were the ones who actually encountered the intruder. Those poor babies!!
Last I checked, "babies" can't walk, talk or follow instructions.
These are not babies but young kids.
I see a fine career in corporate management on her horizon, 😂😂😂
“Bravest moment of her life” she has the bare minimum of courtesy go at least check on those kids and just left them there with some 6 ft freak of nature , like bruh what 😂
If I were the parents of the kids in the first story I would have pressed charges against the babysitter as well for stupidity and incompetence.
The parents themselves are to blame here -- they are the ones that make the rules. They allowed this to happen.
@@athens31415right? They chose to have a fun night out instead of being responsible parents. They chose a 20 year old airhead. They chose not to vet her properly or actually decided that she was responsible enough to take care of children. I know I’m late regarding the first story, but the babysitter is wild for telling the parents that she couldn’t babysit anymore because SHE was haunted by the guy who broke in. I hope she never got another babysitting job after that.
Well, now we know who not to hire as a babysitter.
I just love listening to Mr. Nightmare's horror stories to pass the time. They make me feel creeped yet weirdly calming.

Story 2: Tents are the worst. You’re blind in them and they offer no protection from someone or something that wants to harm you. You’re better off sleeping under the stars or under a tarp with open sides.
And expose yourself more? I’ll take a car anyday.
When I camp it is on my living room couch.
The thought of being in a tent with no protection gives Me the fear . At least have a gun

It’s that time of the year again… Thank You Mr. Nightmare for making the spooky season that much more enjoyable!
I wonder if the babysitter actually said she wouldn’t come back or if the parents told her she wasn’t welcome back? I would have fired her for sure.

I'm loving the consistency of Mr nightmare recently. Been a fan since 2015 and still love these videos
right!! he’s amazing
Im just going to assume that the first story is someone's attempt of ripping off "when a stranger calls" because if not that is the worst babysitter ever.
How in the hell can you ever leave the kids alone in the house with that person. The moment the man appears through the window I would've dashed to the house immediately to save them
That first story is just so ridiculous.
Obviously that wasn't true; I've made my own mistakes babysitting my siblings but I was 10 and circumstances were much different. I just hope the kiddos are okay.
@@kristinwojtowich8902 Everyone makes mistakes, but this isn't just a mistake, this is an astronomical fuck up on the OP's part. Honestly how irresponsible
The new haunting experience for the first story’s submitter is watching this video and seeing these comments telling her she’s not a good babysitter and how this situation could’ve been avoided if she wasn’t irresponsible enough to the point of leaving the kids in the house to deal with the intruder while she was across the yard chatting with her friends.
Well if she was in the house the intruder would have just R’ed her in front of the kids before selling her into human trafficking along with the children. Makes no sense to have her end up being a victim too, just for internet brownie points. You aren’t going to mourn her disappearance or her death, so why should she die?
@@jasonvargas7564bruh what are you on?
Lol are we supposed to feel bad for her!? 😂
@@jasonvargas7564how do you know she’d be sold into trafficking ?! You just made all that up. No as a baby sitter she should’ve have been in the same house as the kids in the first place. Just based on principle
@@Dixter5150 as the parents, they should have been there with the kids in the first place. Just based on principle.
What kind of coward leaves the kids alone like that? If anything, the kids being in danger should have empowered this person to take more aggressive action.
Story 1 Moral of the story: NEVER leave children alone in the house, even when you’re hanging in the guest house several feet away. That intruder would have done God knows what to those children while you were chilling, eating, watching chick flicks, and chatting with friends. So irresponsible.
I have only been watching for about a year, but the consistency of your content never lets me down! Keep up the great work 👍

Glad to see everyone roasting the babysitter in the comments. Leaving the kids alone in the house the first time was bad enough, but leaving them alone the 2nd time after the girl said she heard noises and you heard them yourself is unacceptable. You don't have to risk your life by checking out the noise, but get the kids out of the house and call the police to be safe
Rarely can the internet agree on something but the babysitter in story 1 being the worst babysitter of all time is one of these things
Man the first story was handled poorly. I get it she was scared but damn those kids lives were at stake. She could’ve done far more than just scream and make the situation way worse for the kids. The kids definitely have more trauma considering they were left behind practically and left on their own.
And this is why child protective services should take these kids away from their irresponsible parents.
@@jasonvargas7564 That's a major stretch there dude. What exactly from the limited amount of info we know about these parents proves that they're irresponsible and should have their children taken away?
@@xhalooverlord they’re irresponsible because they thought it was a good idea to let the local town college drunkard clown babysit their children while they went out having fun
