I believe BA should of been sacked ages ago and still feel that way, if he goes out in straight sets again then enough is enough
@@WTC-1990, lets assume the Eels make top 4 again, you would be sacking a coach that has made the top 4 three years in a row. Hardly a reason to sack a coach. I say this as a long suffering Eels fan, just take a look at the results Parra was getting in the J Hayne Era. I think sometimes the grass is not greener on the other side, the Bulldogs fans after Des would know this better then most.
@@MrSweetness1983 if we go out in straight sets I would absolutely sack the coach immediately cause there has been no progress and we have stagnanted as a team, if you can't make it to the final 4 when you have finished top 4 three out of five years then you aren't to be taken seriously as a contender

I’m sure Milford will bounce back but as a Tigers fan, I’d ask the club SURELY we’d have a better halfback than him. Far too often when attacking the opposition line, he’ll kick like he’s aiming for a 40/20 rather than just a simple grubber through which drives me berserk.

The problem isn't Brooks! The problem is tigers left side doesn't have a genuine centre(MCK isn't q centre) or winger(Tommy T is a no6) playing those positions and joe Off isn't a backrower. Douhi is a ball hog and doesn't release Jimmy. 3/4 spine players haven't played more than a handful of games in that position at 1st grade. We don't have a stock to replace them just yet and Micheal can't drop certain players due to politics in that position. Douhi should get thrown into centre and bring madden to pair Brooks. Brooks is also one of the leading try assist in the comp and one of the leading tackle efficiency for a half in the comp. He is 100% effort player but he isn't a grab thr game by the scruff on the neck player and he might never be but for 550k a season he is a steal. No way on earth I'll touch Milford with a stick for reserve grade. Just be patient if you are a tigers fan, Maguire is actually got our jnr program kick started again which previous coaches have fucked up and he has over 2.2milliom tired up in players who doesn't have choice over

I've lost count of how many times Brooks poor kicking has cost us.

I flew down from the Sunshine Coast to witness the horror at Leichhardt a few weeks back, I booed my own team off the ground I want my ashes spread on.
The last thing Wests should do is sack Maguire. We have seen over the last 10 year that Sheens, Potter, Taylor, Cleary have all come and gone and the results stay the same.
The problem lies with the recruitment/retention and who is running the club. Jack Gibson said that a good club starts in the front office and Wests Tigers can't even get that right.

All of these guys in different ways are correct. In my opinion there is a huge elephant in the room. Western Suburbs-Balmain, it just ain't working. They have no natural home ground. They have no clearly identifiable jersey. There is no football team. It's a corporate identity. Wests Tigers Pty Ltd. You can't refer to a footie club as an organisation. No one would have loyalty to that. The whole thing was a survival reaction to a bad situation. The Manly-Norths merger lasted 2-3 seasons and Manly jumped for a lot of reasons, finance being one of them. St George-Illawarra had a relationship to begin with. For mine I'd pull the plug and move the Magpies with a magpie jumper to Campbelltown. Set up what Gus calls the strategic pathways. You bring back that Maggie jumper to Campelltown and christen the grandstand the Tommy Raudonikis stand and see what happens. I suppose the Balmain boys will think the same but I just don't see the traditional Tiger territory having a future.

Campbelltown is just as appealing an area as Penrith. Idk why setting up at Campbelltown would be an issue.

Pascoe has also allowed the Rabbitohs to sign a membership partnership with the MacArthur Bulls. Members get access to home games of both respective clubs. Funnily enough the Bulls play at Campbelltown. Pascoe needs to be held accountable. No wonder the Panthers gave him the flick

I know an ex-Tigers player who played in Sheens last year. He said the moment Sheens left things noticeably got worse in every single way quickly.

I absolutely HATE that coaches are solely blamed for teams poor performances. It really is the worst excuse.
Yeah I feel like too much blame is put on coaches as opposed to players taking more accountability for their poor performances.
So many good players from nz and locals. But gone. Management needs to cope it not just coach.

When you lose players like papenhuysen tedesco ado carr you see why they have no superstars as all the best players don't seem to want to be there and there are always lies and whispers and no loyalty they kept the least of the big three and now they are feeling the consequences
The retention and recruitment by Wests has been the worst out of any club in the last 10 year. Just look at some of the players they have recruited in the last couple of years, mercenaries or people who are just looking for a big pay day.

Well get out of the league. There’s plenty that’ll be happy to turn up, and plenty that’ll be happy to prepare well. Again a professional sport with an amateur attitude.

Don't underestimate the seriousness of this story. You never want to spread fear and panic through the sporting community but there is certainly a responsibility here to be transparent and completely honest with the citizenry. Labelling the situation a crisis (upwards of half a dozen times) may seem melodramatic to some, but you get a sense that these people realise the real possibility that things could be getting a whole lot worse before they get better. Without putting the fear of God in anyone, I actually fear things may never get better. This could even be the existential crisis most of us refuse to acknowledge. Wake up people and get your head out of the sand. Don't be distracted and believe a pandemic or global warming are the things we need to be worrying about. Sporting teams are playing games against each other and one team has to lose. Sure, they lose one game and nobody notices. But then a second. A third. Suddenly a ripple has become an unstoppable force and a team of guys playing a game are left holding a wooden spoon. And where does that leave us? Where does that leave my children? And their children?
There are no proven head coaches left in the game, so clubs can’t just keep sacking coaches. The problems are with culture, player attitudes and recruitment.
Brooks is the problem
You can deflect a lot of what Maguire is doing for all the club-related issues, but in the actual moment, his decisions have been awful. Bringing in Leilua and Roberts, what is this 2016? Also, the middle forward rotation week in week out is an absolute headscratcher. Uto and Twal go off and the game is in the balance. Manly get on top and then neither return....utter stupidity.

Who would want to be a coach. When are the highly paid players going to be held accountable for their own performances. Maybe go back to no win no pay contracts. Milford got sent back to Queensland Cup but didn't suffer any financial consequences, he just had a break form NRL for 2 weeks.
Tigers have signed many great players.
Fun fact. Tigers haven't made finals since 2011. Maybe not a fun fact for Tigers fans.

He would take me to bunnies games and even though we lost all the time he would always tell me to stick by them and look what happened! We are now one of the premier teams in the comp. Who says tigers can't be the same. The thing I love about league is every team (except storm the bastards) goes in and out of being good so there's always hope.

As kids, we didn’t care about the result so much as having a ball playing on the hill. Meeting the late Laurie Nicholls there was terrifying at first (met him when I was 8) but later in life, grew to know him as a true gentleman. My dad also gave me the advice of “always bet on your own team or whoever’s playing Manly” 😂😂😂. Nowadays, it’s the Storm & the Roosters who I can’t stand. Your Bunnies certainly are one of the strongest sides in the comp & seeing “the old man” (Benji) firing on all cylinders is a great sight ☝️😉👌

Even people from Campbelltown don't want to be there, got no hope of attracting players to that area & got no hope of developing juniors in Concord. They are a dead club, only a matter of time.
I'm from there and from day dot we knew it was a takeover instead of an equal merger even though all the gun juniors come from macarthur and all the money comes from ashfield. The Balmain half havent offered anything. We definitely wouldnt shed tears if the club imploded.

The "players" aren't doing their job. They are paid big heaps of money and aren't turning up to play, sack them not the coach.
Tedesco, Papenhuyzen, Ado-Carr, Moses, Blake Austin, Koroibete, Marshall, Fifita, Lodge... the list goes on. And they are replaced with overpaid and over the hill. Player management is the underlying problem that leads to poor performance.
Considering that these people are professional media journos, they really need to stop talking over each other

Get a decent half. Maybe stop flogging the boys at training like you're a drill instructor. So many players have complained about the way the coach trains his players. From multiple teams.
Every year it's the same conversation, coaches under pressure teams not performing. The trouble is there isn't enough talent to have 16 teams capable of winning the comp . There have been fairytales in 05 and 03 but in the history of the game they are few and far between.
How's this for an idea the NRL draws a line in the sand ,and says in 2025 the game will be a 10 or 12 team competition . On top of this pump money into 2 big second tier competitions. A big NSW cup and Queensland cup essentially. Clubs could un merge , the Pacific islands could become teams and it would be easier to bring teams from WA , SA or another Brisbane team into the competition without giving them extra salary . Just an idea but I think the NRL needs start protecting it's heart land and breeding grounds more before it wants to expand, I think this will help both
