Summer of -90. Oh man what memories. I was 17, almost innocent. I had my band, my long hair, my dreams... yeah... "You know I'm a dreamer.... but my heart's of gold"
So, i've always loved these since i was what, 6? i'm 18 this year, people say im too young to like this... is that why they got announced for download? i get to see my heroes. YAYAYA.
My old band supported these guys at the exchange in Edinburgh in 200.....6 or 7. We were given 2 fridges full of beer as a rider and I remember the bass player asking us where he could get a top up for his mobile. It was definitely a Spinal Tap moment! So funny...
I have seen Hundreds of bands and saw these a couple of times in Leeds and Bradford and they were truly awesome. Tickets cost me £3 at most! But I'd pay £30 to see them again.
whish there wud b more nu bands like these gud old rock n roll theres only the stone gods n they r quite at the moment. Much better than the depressing grunge that was ruling in 90's
Except they pre-dated both bands... formed in 1984, originally known as The Choirboys after a film Guy n Spike loved (had to change their name due to an Australian band of the same name), changed it to The Queerboys (as Spike & Guy's workmates on the building sites they worked took the piss out of their appearance)... and finally became The Quireboys. As told to me by Guy Bailey. Guns n Roses came to see them at their residency at The Marquee, as Gn R were due to play there the following day, I believe. Oh, and Lemmy - a longtime mate of Nigel's once lent him a lurid pink bass to take on tour as a spare guitar, as Nigel just had the one.... he never found out if Lemmy was winding him up or not, or just being helpful. I've digressed a lot here... but I hope the tales have amused you! 👍😊
I only remember the Quireboys from searching for Queen albums in 90s H1 record shops. But somehow I remember this chorus - I'd love to know how it was embedded in my memory, only to be uncovered 28 years later by watching this vid. It could have been TOTP.
He should stick to singing this kind of stuff and leave Frankie Millers tunes alone. Pure sacrilege if you ask me and only riding on the coat tails of the amazing Frankie and trying to stand on the shoulders of a Legend!!!
These guys were awesome but sadly underated they deserved way more recognition than what they got
Why the fuck aren't songs like this ever played on the radio 😢
This is better than most of the crap on the radio today.Too bad bands today won't check the past and learn.
