    This is a holy and respected celebration.. Please do not come on here and say disrespectful and hurtful things to each other. Whether you agree or disagree. Honor the celebration of Passover as the Lord would want us to remember what he did for us and our ancestors.

    Wow fascinating beautiful religion. I'm a Christian but I've always admired Jewish folks for how kind and giving they are and evolve the whole family in their realign and respect women, children, elderly and special needs. Lots of my closest friends are Jewish and my Great Uncle Hugo was a Jewish holistic victim from Berlin Germany so I feel like I have to understand about his religion a little bit.

      Allison Burke I have great news for you sister, these things belong to Yahweh .these are his feasts . Not just the Jews . Remember Jews are from the tribe of Judah, there are more. Moses led the Hebrews all 12 tribes out of Egypt.. these feasts should be practiced even by christiAns , as the disciples did. Partake in these feasts for they are the sabbath and belong to all his people.

      Consider Massianic Judiasm where Christ Jesus is the accepted Messiah. No more waiting because we know he already came and went and we are waiting for the second coming. All Praise be to Christ Jesus.

      @@Kanakonakoa It's true. Christ Jesus Yeshua Meshiach was a practicing Jew, he was circumcised on the 8th day, he celebrated Hannukah and the last super was actually a Passover Seder. It is hard for us Christian's to accept but Jesus also said he didn't come to create a new religion or to abolish the law. The true followers of Christ Jesus (Yeshua) know the truth.

      Yeah it is. Grass it says. It definitely talks about grass lol. And anyway, it doesn't NOT allow it. The Bible is a guide. I'm sure if you think about it, the BIBLE didn't tell you to drive a car either, or to breathe in the toxins from so much pollution. Your life is surrounded by things that aren't mentioned in the Bible that YOU take part in. But..
      Are you a good person? Do you have compassion?

      +David Osborn “We all remember how the Jews used to slaughter Christians, in order to mix their blood in their holy matzos. This is not a figment of imagination or something taken from a film. It is a fact, acknowledged by their own books and by historical evidence. It happened everywhere, here and there,” he added.
      The blood libel originated in 1144 with the fabricated story of William of Norwich, England and is continuously used by Arabs. Earlier this month, the editor of Hamas's paper Al-Risalah, Wisam Afifa, associated the death of Palestinian Arab teen Mohammed Abu-Khder with the blood libel.
      Another instance of an Arab media outlet perpetuating the blood libel was uncovered by MEMRI last year.
      In that incident, the founder of the Egyptian Justice and Progress Party said in a televised interview, “It is well known that during the Passover, [the Jews] make matzos called the ‘Blood of Zion’. They take a Christian child, slit his throat and slaughter him. Then they take his blood and make their [matzos]. This is a very important rite for the Jews, which they never forgo.”
      Asked by the interview whether the Jews do this to this day, he replied, “Absolutely. The French kings and the Russian czars discovered this in the Jewish quarters. there is no obsession in Judaism with going to heaven or hell. there is no such thing to Judaism as the Christian idea of satan toasting people for eternity . good people of all kinds, regardless of personal choice of faiths are just fine. God does not play favorites like this or make unreasonable demands . Abraham and the Hebrews accepted the deal to be special representatives and examples of God's goodness and civility . rejecting cruelty, immorality , wasting effort on praying to rocks and statues . promote belief in and respect for a higher authority. all people are equal before God. jews just have a special obligation to try harder and to keep the belief in One God , supreme above all going. Christians, muslims, hindus, etc. have their own way to worship. God hears all and cares. some just have taken on more of the role as punching bag by those who need to defy God . no my friend. jews who know their faith say you folks are just fine and are brothers. we are all of the same Creator.

    Why cant Elijah open the door himself?

    • @cootmaster
      @cootmaster 6 років тому

      because YOU are to invite the stranger or anyone hungry in

    • @DAK4Blizzard
      @DAK4Blizzard 5 років тому +1

      @@cootmaster Inviting strangers in actually wasn't the intention of opening the door, at least not at the point in the seder when we're doing it for Elijah. After all, we open the door for Elijah after the meal and afikoman are eaten. The custom of opening the door derives from medieval Europe, for Jews to show outsiders that their seder was innocent and that horrible rumors spread about them (such as taking the blood of children) were bs. However, with some irony, they traditionally recite in Hebrew at this time that may God punish non-believers (which can be taken more innocently to mean those who seek to harm Jews).
      The idea of Elijah coming to the seder derives from the idea that he is immortal -- the Tanakh says he ascends to heaven in a chariot, and so he is the only person in that collection who didn't pass away. He is viewed as a protector and a source of hope; it's said that he'll usher in the messiah and resolve all disputes. The cup for Elijah derives from the question of whether we should drink a 5th cup. This cup represents God’s promise “I will bring you into the land.” Rabbis could not agree whether this promise is connected to the other four. Thus, we have a fifth cup of wine but do not drink from it.
      In sum, 3 traditions got rolled into one: Opening the door to ease tensions with non-Jews, looking to an immortal prophet for hope, and compromising on whether to have a 5th cup of wine.

    • @andrewc4112
      @andrewc4112 8 років тому +3

      +Jay Lacky Yes, it's traditional to say a blessing for 4 cups of wine each. Alcohol is not forbidden in Judaism. There's also a large meal; the Seder isn't just wine.
      In the Jewish Bible, God commands us to celebrate and be joyous on several holidays, and wine has always been a symbol of joy in Judaism, so it makes sense to officially ring in the holiday with wine.

    • @andrewc4112
      @andrewc4112 8 років тому +4

      The halakah (law) states that it must be at least the amount of an olive that is sipped. Yes there are black Jews and white Jews (like myself). Look what the Bible says about it:
    Romans Ch2
    28For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
    29But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.
    It was commanded by God to all Jews (natural or spiritual) to keep the Feast of the Passover forever. God Bless.

    They're is a much greater slavery that God delivered his people from, and that was the slavery to death caused by our sin. Before, whoever marked their door with the blood of the lamb would be passed over by the justice and vengeance of God, and so too is the case with Jesus Christ.
