- I set out to replace the starter on my Malibu and discovered that the oil pressure sending switch was leaking oil. This also happened with my Impala too.
Thanks! I just fixed my Malibu this evening because of you 😊
Helped me a lot I got a 2004 Malibu 3.5 with a oil leak above the starter......solved oil pressure sensor
This video helped me a lot with the starter replacement on my Malibu.
Thanks
Was your starter still cranking or was it complete gone because of the oil covering it?
Great info my guy
So just how did u get the socket actually on the oil sensor u showed us the special socket but then used a wrench . . .
Check the oil filter housing gasket too. Gasket could be blown and you could have a leak there. That’s where my leak was. Just changed it out and I have no more leaks.
Never mind. Your adapter looks pretty clean.
good catch thanks for the info
What does the black plastic piece actually cover?
Does it have to come off?
If it has to come off, does it have to go back on necessarily?
Looks like it covers the bolts.
Looks like it might cover the flywheel too.
Or could I possibly just cut a small piece of that plastic thing a way to get to the one bolt I have a limited amount of tools right now is the reason I don't think I have a 10 mm box wrench all my stuff's in storage.
what plastic cover? in the engine compartment? if that it covers the battery. you should have one for your car

No the cover over over the flywheel.
I was able to get to the bolt,
To much talking about other stuff instead of how to take and put starter on. My goodness
did the oil damage your starter? thanks for this video
it's possible that the oil damaged the starter, not sure
How do I get the started out
after taking the bolts out the starter should come out
Been trying for three hourd
