We have been using similar tooling plates for years in metalworking. They work really well for work holding and alignment. You might want to create some eccentric clamps, corner supports and squares. I think they would work great for woodworking and light metalwork. Best of all if you ding them up while you’re working on a project you just print a new one.

this is going to see an open source imitator within months, just like alexandre chappels system of organizers resulted in zachs open source gridfinity standard. if u had released this open source yourself, you would, counterintuitively, have had more control over it, but since you released it closed source, its only a matter of time until it gets adapted, and im honestly in favor of that

I believe people will come up with something similar but open source even before the Kickstarter project delivery is done

Another good example on open source is Chromium based browsers. Chrome and Chrome based browsers are 90% of the market. Google has majority control over it, Microsoft made Edge chrome based.
3D printing can easily reproduce pretty much anything. A simple design like this will definitely be ripped off and become superior.

The fact that it's THIS modular is crazy. The laptop stand thing really surprised me because although it's fairly impractical, the option is still completely there, and it can help people transition from just printing, to designing as well.

Would be nice to have a table mount for the threadboards so it would act like a pegboard backer to an existing workbench.

Amazing project. One set of modules i'd love to see is ones that make it compatible with a similar system called: "Gridfinity". The main thing with gridfinity is that it is for horizontal spaces and this looks fantastic for vertial spaces. Imagine combining the two into a single unit. Just a silly idea i had

What's the advantage of this over a standard plastic or wood or metal pegboard? It seems a huge amount of plastic filament for the wall boards.

I am very happy to have such a great work. I recently purchased this product, but I cannot find the part (white part) where the scissors are placed in 1:08. I would like to know in which folder I can find it. Thank you. Another suggestion is to add a cover to the container to make it easier to place things that need to be covered. Thank you.

You are selling this ? Multiboard is better in my opinion and is free if you want or you can decide to support or not.
You should have a free offer also.

    • @syber-space
      @syber-space 5 місяців тому +1

It's definitely up to what people are looking for. Multiboard prioritizes strength through print orientation and varied parts, while it seems threadboard is more focused on using solid/high infill to achieve similar effect with greater compatibility (not needing to use many thread sizes and assemblies). Multiboard is also in earlier development, but has a 3 month early release schedule (no cost for personal use) so eventually all core parts will be free, though commercial use requires a license. I am unsure of how commercial use works with threadboard, but the base models have an initial cost from what I can see.
Full disclosure, I've contributed a bit to the Multiboard project, so I do have a bias in that direction 😅

Please not another "standard" for an organization system. This one is literally just a cheeseplate.
I'f you'd like to add compatibility for what we use in the film industry just use 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 screws instead and instantly have thousands of compatible accessories on the marker. Both regular screw treads and anti rotation locking pins like the Arri standard

    Another idea (or 2):
    Introduce a bit more hexagons
For example make another hole in the inside of the screw that's a lil bit tinier and has a hexagon shape so you could use tools to thighten the screws a lil bit better
Also mby make the round outside of the bolt hexagon shaped
This should help with grip and torque when you for example need to get two scrows apart again after you tighten them to much
