We have been using similar tooling plates for years in metalworking. They work really well for work holding and alignment. You might want to create some eccentric clamps, corner supports and squares. I think they would work great for woodworking and light metalwork. Best of all if you ding them up while you’re working on a project you just print a new one.
this is going to see an open source imitator within months, just like alexandre chappels system of organizers resulted in zachs open source gridfinity standard. if u had released this open source yourself, you would, counterintuitively, have had more control over it, but since you released it closed source, its only a matter of time until it gets adapted, and im honestly in favor of that
Another good example on open source is Chromium based browsers. Chrome and Chrome based browsers are 90% of the market. Google has majority control over it, Microsoft made Edge chrome based. 3D printing can easily reproduce pretty much anything. A simple design like this will definitely be ripped off and become superior.
The fact that it's THIS modular is crazy. The laptop stand thing really surprised me because although it's fairly impractical, the option is still completely there, and it can help people transition from just printing, to designing as well.
Man I'm just getting into 3d printing and I have been looking for days for the same thing for us folks that don't want to mount it to a wall just desk mount
Amazing project. One set of modules i'd love to see is ones that make it compatible with a similar system called: "Gridfinity". The main thing with gridfinity is that it is for horizontal spaces and this looks fantastic for vertial spaces. Imagine combining the two into a single unit. Just a silly idea i had
These boards are AMAZING. I have been printing parts nonstop. Can you explore making rubber glove dispenser that fits a standard box of nitrile gloves. Thank you.
i need this in my life i have so many uses for this looks like i need to start seriously stocking up on filament so much to print awesome project and cant wait :)
I am very happy to have such a great work. I recently purchased this product, but I cannot find the part (white part) where the scissors are placed in 1:08. I would like to know in which folder I can find it. Thank you. Another suggestion is to add a cover to the container to make it easier to place things that need to be covered. Thank you.
You are selling this ? Multiboard is better in my opinion and is free if you want or you can decide to support or not. You should have a free offer also.
It's definitely up to what people are looking for. Multiboard prioritizes strength through print orientation and varied parts, while it seems threadboard is more focused on using solid/high infill to achieve similar effect with greater compatibility (not needing to use many thread sizes and assemblies). Multiboard is also in earlier development, but has a 3 month early release schedule (no cost for personal use) so eventually all core parts will be free, though commercial use requires a license. I am unsure of how commercial use works with threadboard, but the base models have an initial cost from what I can see. Full disclosure, I've contributed a bit to the Multiboard project, so I do have a bias in that direction 😅
Please not another "standard" for an organization system. This one is literally just a cheeseplate. I'f you'd like to add compatibility for what we use in the film industry just use 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 screws instead and instantly have thousands of compatible accessories on the marker. Both regular screw treads and anti rotation locking pins like the Arri standard
Hey. I wanted to ask about another gearbox video or just like a 5-speed gearbox that i could buy... Not the blueprints because i dont own a 3d Printer. Can you or anybody in the comments here help me?
Another idea (or 2): Introduce a bit more hexagons For example make another hole in the inside of the screw that's a lil bit tinier and has a hexagon shape so you could use tools to thighten the screws a lil bit better Also mby make the round outside of the bolt hexagon shaped This should help with grip and torque when you for example need to get two scrows apart again after you tighten them to much
It's a great idea, but so simple. Why would I need to pay for something that I can design myself faster than it would take to download it from you? Thanks for the idea, though!

Build a barebones wall mounted pc on threadboards? The wiring could look awesome!
Oh yeah ❤
Ooh smart!
Beautiful extensible design! Now I want a blank wall to Thread Boardify!

I believe people will come up with something similar but open source even before the Kickstarter project delivery is done

I don’t see this being released yet?
Tag me when it’s open source
Anyway the man made over 120k + with this project. A loooot more that it should have IMHO
I'll sketch out a version of this in Fusion 360 soon and throw parametric files up on Printables for free.
Looks awesome. I do wish it was released as open source. But I do understand the need for they way you have chosen to do it.
I don't understand it. This should be open source.
The fact that it's THIS modular is crazy. The laptop stand thing really surprised me because although it's fairly impractical, the option is still completely there, and it can help people transition from just printing, to designing as well.
Would be nice to have a table mount for the threadboards so it would act like a pegboard backer to an existing workbench.

No.
@@SirSpence99No?
@@Kosaro1234 You heard him, no. Just drop it, mister.
Kinda like the bridge between using LEGO bricks seriously and actually working in a workshop. Really clever!
So these are more material using honeycomb storage walls?
What's the advantage of this over a standard plastic or wood or metal pegboard? It seems a huge amount of plastic filament for the wall boards.
You could probably save more plastic if you shell out some of the backside.
Or put smaller diameter holes between the larger ones.
Check out multi-board!
These boards are AMAZING. I have been printing parts nonstop. Can you explore making rubber glove dispenser that fits a standard box of nitrile gloves. Thank you.
Can you show us with fusion how to make an attachment for this using correct thread dimensions?
i need this in my life i have so many uses for this looks like i need to start seriously stocking up on filament so much to print awesome project and cant wait :)
I'd recommend adding a thread board that you can mount on a corner

Will be in the next update! Glad you like it

WTF make this open source, so the community can expand on it.
Would be handy if you could mount spool holders to it
What is the weight limit of the boards?
This blew my mind!!!
Thank you so much for this. Already waiting to start printing. ❤❤❤❤
Would love to see boxes for sorting tcg cards, adding a front window that you can slot a card in to show what's in the box
This is a really awesome idea. I hope you see success in this, man!
I'm waiting for gridfinity community to do their magic with your design!
Great creative project
Thanks for this! I just bought it and wondering if PLA would be ok or do you recommend ABS? Thanks
how is it attached to wall?
Maybe make something that can hold game cartridges? like switch games and stuff like that
Shell it as others suggest, to save plastic
I’d love to see this!
I still preferring the hexagonal one.
I am having trouble getting signed up with thread boards.. anyone have any guidance?
Great work on this man!
How do you attach it to the wall?

Hm… print a 1/4-20 and see how that goes for repeat use 😅
That probably wouldn’t work very well for 3D printing
Something with drawers?
Or I can buy a 4x2 ft square piece of pegboard for 12 bucks. Not everything is a problem that needs to be saved with a printer
Really cool, its like cheese plate from camera gear but for everything
Nice work!!!
Each back board looks like it wouldn’t fit on a Ender 3. Will all parts be able to print on a Ender?
Yes, they can be printed on any size 3D printer. (There are plenty of board sizes to choose from)
Hey. I wanted to ask about another gearbox video or just like a 5-speed gearbox that i could buy... Not the blueprints because i dont own a 3d Printer. Can you or anybody in the comments here help me?
LOVE IT!!
Man this is the dopest dope
It look very useful! can I copy your idea and design my own? (*not for sale!)
You bloody genius
So basically a pegboard that looks like a building block toy
I NEED THESE FOR MY SHOP!!! I’ll buy them if you’ll sell them
I can't wait, I did the $249 pledge. I hope it's cool.
Reminds me of those kids tool sets
looks cool
Hey ur project is awesome.its great❤
LOVE THIS!!!
looks cool, maby you can add a headphone holder
I mean its a cool idea, but anyone who is interested in it is just able to design and print it themselves for free...

Multiboard ??🤔🤔🤔
I loveeee itttt
Literally perfect timing, I was about to buy skids to start wall mounting my stuff but this is way cheaper
So this is bscly like legos
Is it just me or does it looks like a Lego technic set.
Isn't it just a crappier closed-source version of Gridfinity?
Yes. This guy has no idea what he is doing.
Make a thread board system that is meant to turn plastic bottle strips to 3D filament. Kinda like a plastic bottle recycling machine ✨🔥🙌
a couple nails and a pegboard does the same thing....
It's a great idea, but so simple. Why would I need to pay for something that I can design myself faster than it would take to download it from you? Thanks for the idea, though!
Make it open source and you will dominate.
milllion dollar idea????
isnt this just a pegboard
The open source commenters are ruthless! Also "Take 296 of someone trying to reinvent pegboard."
I agree with others. This project is failing before it launches. Closed sourcing 3D printables is the recipe for failure
Please make a gearbox that can spin 7.5cm per second.please, and mail me to my place. If you good please reply me say "yes"
is this free or open source? if not I won't help this community. i was about to share some design advice, now I'm not sure.
That’s a more useful version of Lego
Not even as useful as the 100 other preexisting systems lol
