    Elevating the heels throws the weight forward on the quads making them work harder as flat footed brings in the glutes more.

      Usually they are placed to help with depth. To relieve the ankle flexibility and hit deeper before fucking up and falling over. And going deeper recruits more glutes, so everything wins

    Squatting with plates underneath your heals places more emphasis on the quads. Try it out.

    lack of ankle mobility prevents you from hitting depth with proper form. The plates halp compensate.

      Lucian Nedelcu probably for more ankle flexibility and it puts more focus on the quads

    nope, not what they are used for in pro bodybuilding,plates help elavate heels to target quads more
