Excellent machete, bro!
Nice little bushwacker thats one on the to get list
Cheers Lewis 👍
Nice one ! You can't beat a good old Tramontina for general Machete work !
Exactly Zed! Cheers mate.
I oil the handles on mine and drill them so as to put a piece of cord through, which allows them to be wrapped nicely around the wrist.
Nice one mate that’s a good idea I’ll do that with this one. 👍
@@sak94 No worries. I do them at the back with an 8mm drill, slightly below that last rivet, but mine seem to be squared off a bit more than your one. If you can't find enough room there, I suppose you could go right through the tang wherever you think would suit you.
This one chops oak pretty well, bastard file and coarse whet stone will make hairs pop
100% mate
@@sak94I have the 14.5 inch bolo too, which is also amazing but this one is significantly heavier and is capable of slaying hardwood with ease
You need to sharpen your machete. Any rock will work basically. Sandpaper on a block of wood will work or a metal file.
I have that machete and it bites deep.
Yeah I know I’ve sharpened it now. I wanted to test it exactly as I got it before sharpening.
The edges come fairly average. Most people don’t need them razor sharp but I like mine shaving sharp. Some of my machetes have mirror edges.
I want to get the same one. How thick is it?
1.25mm I believe mate.
@@sak94 Damn that's thinner than i expected. Too thin for me, think i'll pass. Thanks!
No problem, thats the spec I could find looking online, mines packed away and awkward to get to at the moment. The weight comes from the width of the blade rather than the thickness with this particular design.
@@sak94 1,25 mm is butter knife thickness. Something like 2-3 mm would have been nicer.
They’re 2mm thick. Plenty for a machete.
