- Sam from Shaper HQ walks us through an entire box build using Box Joint Basic, one of the Extensions that we introduced with our latest software release. Box Joint Basic lets users input their joint parameters (pin count, stock dimension, cutter diameter) and creates cut files for both mating pieces on the fly-no computers, math, or physical templates required! #boxjoints #shapermade #shaperorigin
Check out how Eric from Shaper Tools uses Box Joint Basic to create his custom gin box here: • Designing Box Joints ...
and you can watch an overview of everything that is included in the latest software release here: • Shaper Origin: Walkthr...

Sam is the best presenter you have. Well done.
Concise, accurate communicator! Wow! I hope he is still with Shaper. He makes it all look so easy. Have watched this x times already and commented 9 mos. ago. I be ready to route! Thanks!
What a great demonstration~!! I'm excited to get my Shaper in the mail next week~! Thanks Sam~!
Great Tutorial. Very well explained, I would wish the majority of all UA-cam-Tut´s were done by this Guy....! So Thumbs Up. Already left my Abo. Thanks & best greetings from Germany. Michael
Wow, looking forward to seeing the demonstration in Lyon, France in February
Excited to try this out, thanks for the update!
More like this please. Super tutorial. Would have liked to be able to see the screen when he was working on it.
This is the content we want to see as owners - train us up!
Agreed! A training with this much depth for the vertical workstation would be a great help too for something so fundamental to the tool.
Very helpful , I’m a slow learner and watched it twice
This is EXTREMELY cool! I can see lots of examples for how to eliminate extra steps in the UX, but otherwise kudos!
What an easy way to create a stopped dado!
this is amazing and so easy, do you have a video showing how to make a half lap?
Z-Touch @ 9:30 is CRITICAL!
Can you do dovetail joinery as well?
how do I access the pdf support. I just bought the Shaper Origin this week. Looking forward to Monday's demo in Torrance at Hudson & West
Awesome
this is really cool …
quick question : does the Origin allow for the placement of tabs in your cuts so the piece doesn't spin out when cut all the way around or would I have to double sided tape the piece down?
Finally!
Very Good Video. I wish in future they'd move slowly over the touch screen tapping. It takes multiple reviewing to catch the selection screen and what they're selecting. This is for newbies after all , right?
Less tear out if a box joint is done with a climb cut on the right hand side of the joint. Will this tool allow a climb cut?
Really nice tutorial. In the end, it is not even necessary to own a shaper workstation in order to produce such boxes. What kind of drawing software do you recommend (that I can afford)?
Another good one is a candle holder very basic.
I'm not sure yet if the video answers this, but how long would you estimate this box would take to create in the real world, by someone who's comfortable with the machine? I'm curious if this would be a good tool for cabinetry.
Given the front ant back are identical, why not cut both at the same time? (same for the sides)
Great tutorial - what is the Z depth or height of the Z axis?
C R 41mm max
Did you make the platform your working on? I would like to know more about that
wow this is awesome where can I purchase this
Can the shaper also make dovetails ?
Thanks for the video. However, a better view of the screen would be helpful.
Thanks
Add a kitchen cabinet hinge creating feature.
MySchizo Buddy I think there’s a file for that on the Shaper hub.
Pocket holes
Where do I find the pdf document
You can find the files, including the PDF instructions, on the ShaperHub project hub.shapertools.com/creators/5fbc41ffe7369a000fdb5058/shares/64545ee89d48ed9316c155d9
Question: Does this machine provide a simple means of doing something very complicated, or does it provide a complicated means of doing something very simple?
I would say that it provides a more space- and cost-effective way of doing multiple things with one tool, albeit perhaps more complicated.
looks like a simple way to do something simple
Im in woods rn 😢😢😢 to long of a vid
Why didn't you clamp the two A's and two B's together to make a quicker job
Was wondering the same thing. Should save a lot of setup and setting change time.
Bitte auch auf deutsch oder mit Untertiteln, wir zahlen viel Geld für die Maschine
Cut them by hand with a saw and chisels. This is ridiculous.
