The true irony in all of this... if Techs mom was never sick. He never would have had so much drive to make it to support her. Her curse was his blessing. I know I'll get ripped up for this. His poor mom did suffer. But her suffering lit a fire in her son. And any true parent would happily lay down their life for their children if it meant the better for them. In the end, I bet she was happy to know her son was a legend. That's the strength of God. Tech reached millions and millions of people and saved them and aided them with his music.

Tech N9ne has always made meaningful music throughout the almost 20 years I've listened to him.. He puts his true feelings into his writing and allows the listener to step into his life. He's really one of the better storytellers ever in the genre.. He usually has a deeper meaning or metaphor attached to his stuff but then again he has fun party stuff as well because that's also part of his life haha.. Don't be turned away by him and the "gangsta rap" you mentioned that got old to you, he only talks about it because he lived it. He doesn't focus on it and only talk about guns and cars and women. But it is part of his music as well. He's really an honest and very vulnerable artist ESPECIALLY for hip hop.. As you can tell this song is about his mom.. If I was going to recommend his music to you I wouldn't really say a particular song, id say start with an entire album. He makes whole projects that have concepts and not just a random assortment of tracks. Maybe one of his earlier albums like "Anghellic".. A very personal album that he said was basically the last few years of his life on record. He's also very versatile in his music.. A lot of classic influences, rock and metal, mixed in with a unique style of rap.. He's one of the pioneers of the chopper flow, rapping fast while staying extremely clear.. Imo he's a GOAT in the game and I could list 100 reasons why haha don't even get me started on his live shows

I 4get if it was an interview or future album.. but he talked abt how much that album took from him and that he didn't want to go into that darkness again.. k.o.d. is amazingly dark if that makes sense
And it's noted multiple times in this song that he and his mom especially tithes to the house of god but she keeps getting sicker and sicker. And he's saying to god, "how can you do that to her with so much bread and livelihood invested in you?" "We believe and spread your gospel and give in your name and you deny us?.." is pretty much what he's saying. If you ever witnessed a parent that raised you passing away, you ask these questions especially if said person taught you about god and Christianity and carried his words like a messenger is supposed to do. But we still suffer harder and harder through life the more we do in his name. It's him airing out how he felt towards god when his mom died prematurely at such a young age.
