I met him at COTA 3 weeks ago. He was driving F2 cars at the track. It was a couple days before they announced his seat. He was extremely nice and I couldn't be happier for him. I will gladly cheer him on.

South America in general go bananas when it comes to sport, especially when it’s their own countrymen or women competiting. It’s honestly amazing to see, I’m sure it’ll even be the same if Franco wasn’t scoring points at all. The fact that he is and pretty competitive, I can’t wait for Brazil, that place is wild enough, but imagine when Franco rocks up…. His resemblance to a certain Brazilian F1 legend wouldn’t hurt either. It would honestly be beautiful.

I was at the race and then on the track for the track invasion. The staff at COTA made us leave the track after only about 30-45 min. Last couple years we could spend way longer on there. I bet that's why there were no fans for Liam.
I'm 55 and I watched my first race as a boy under the bleachers at Silverstone-I was at school nearby and in those days we could sneak in. No way could you do that today. Great to see the next generation of drivers come into the sport with such popularity. Exciting stuff. But boy have the rules screwed this sport up. Lets the boys race FFS..... Franco certainly deserves the attention from F1 fans. As an American, I think it’s interesting that he is more adored at an American race than Logan Sargent ever was. American F1 fans seem to love the sport itself and support successful drivers. That’s different from the nationalism of Dutch fans or the Tifosi.
we here in America are all mostly immigrants (my families go back to the late 1800's from Italy, Germany, and more) unless you are part of the native Indigenous people. Come to Brooklyn, NYC. . . . we love our drivers from all over . . . our high schools are the great "melting pots" of the world. We had a word for those from all over in high school with us; friends.
It's always disappointing to see promising and talented young drivers forced to the sidelines while far more mediocre drivers with deeper pockets race in their stead, but if Franco misses out on 2025, I'll be especially sad.

Argentina skyrocketed in popularity in the US thanks to Messi winning the World Cup, 2 Copa Americas, and joining the MLS. It’s definitely not surprising to see a talented Argentinian such as Colapinto getting mass recognition from the fans. But one things for sure, the hardcore Brazilian fans won’t like this
