Stupidly the BBC and Sky tended to focus on the state coach leaving me with less footage than I would've hoped for, hence why I also added footage from the Platinum Jubilee, Trooping the Colour and others. Yeah also the quality aint its finest cause BBC Iplayer and ITVX suck ass.

As a US naval officer I worked with my Royal Navy counterparts back in the 1980-90s. Utmost respect and admiration from a retired fellow warrior.

@@LinusWatchesit’s a well know bit of British history that the British took the bearskin hat from the defeated french and wore them just to upset them more. I’m certain you can find more information on UA-cam.

Hate to be that guy, but the Brit Guards repulsed the 3rd and 4th Chasseur Regiments of the Middle Guard initially, then the Grenadier Battalions (who wore Belgic shakos with a large red plume) of the 3rd and 4th Regiments of the Middle Guard who were supporting them. The two Old Guard Battalions that took part made light work of it until they were confronted by the 52nd Foot who poured volleys at point blank range into the flanks of Old Guard and then 1000 strong, charged them with the bayonet. If anybody should be wearing the bearskin it should be the Green Jackets!

The British Armed Forces are the best in the world at doing ceremonial displays, because they have a long history of doing such, and so it's become tradition and proudly so. But that's it is now, just ceremonial, and we are still good at it. The very idea that such traditional ceremonial displays are somehow 'fascist' is absolutely ridiculous. 🤣
