It's probably the hardiest aloe grow in South New Jersey polar snap temperature was 8 degrees all clumps look good no damage have them in for over 5 years. Grow in rocks and sand need lots of drainage in winter. A dry overhang roof would be even better. Love the flowers too in spring. They grow fast too easy to propagate more

Wow, I think you can get a lot colder winters than us. The killer here is is the amount of rain in winter, even so the Aloe is not phased.

Update had soaking deluge rains this winter/ spring here s Nj. Most my hardy aloes survived keeping them drier in winter is the key even in flooding rain years they can make it thru winter

I lost the main plant last year but the pups survived. Thanks for your comment and for watching.

This is so pretty! You grow it in ground? It is an indoor plant for us. 💚🙏🪴

Yes it actually known as an indoor plant here but it is actually quite hardy outdoors over winter.

It's doing really well in that spot mate. I've put all my agaves and single aloe in raised beds at the front of the house as our soil is heavy clay. Seems to have really helped them cope with our winters . Really cool orange flower on your aloe

Yeah mate it's amazing how well it has done. I think all the amazing Aloes will send really interesting flower spikes. Which Aloes do you grow?

@@mywalledgarden A few agaves but only one aloe, aloe arborescens. Does really well here with orange flowers. Your video has inspired me to try your variety as looks so good. I really want an aloe polyphilla but can't justify the price at the moment

I have seen the Spiral Aloe, it looks amazing, they are rare and expensive though.

Really nice garden you have. What would you recommend for a centre piece in small front garden potted? Currently have some type of conifer which is browning not sure if it’s died off or the browning is from the sun As the front of my home is a sun trap. Any advice would be appreciated

I suppose it depends on your climate. Its all down to taste but would I go for something architectural that looks good all year round like a hardy palm. I have also seen people growing a Dwarf flamingo tree. Thats another architectural plant but it will lose the leaves in winter.

I have the same plant but mine is growing an offset halfway up the flower stalk and I don't know what to do with it because the offset isn't growing roots from it. Should I cut it off and help it grow roots by putting it in perlite or something? I don't know what to do hopefully you have some suggestions.

Hi, I have never see that before, all the pups from mine come from the bottom. You could pull it out and try it. if it fails the plant is still there so it will make more.

Hello, my plant has just bloomed and I was wondering how to prune the flowers and stem once they have dried out?
