I am a teenager, and I have to say you explained the topic of LGBTQ the best I've ever heard it said. But with explaining the movement and issues with it to teengers, you also should explain to teenagers how to interact with others who have those views. I think that is the hardest struggle about it. How to approach those people as a Confessional Lutheran teen is really hard, for me, and for a lot of other Lutheran, and other Christian denomination, teens.

I think at some point we just have to say, "Because God said so. It's in the Bible. The Bible is the truth. So women can not be pastors, men can not be women, women can not be men, and homosexuality is a sin."

That's a losing strategy and a cowardly one.

@allysoncheynes1216 . Winning strategy for what? What exactly are we trying to "win" here? Seems to me that standing up for what the Bible says in this day and age is the opposite of cowardly.

Thanks for these helpful, thoughtful conversations! Listening to you both grapple with these often difficult topics really gives me good “handholds” for approaching them myself, both to understand and to help teach others. Thank you!

Thanks, Pastor Packard, for your summary comments about “following your heart” philosophy. We have a mid-twenties granddaughter who is beautiful and talented who has elected to take hormone treatments to become a transgender male. I’m LCMS Lutheran and have not weighed in on the situation, but you’ve helped me to prepare should the opportunity arise. I would appreciate your offering a prayer for Sawyer. Thanks, again and may His Peace be with you.

How much longer can the acronym get? Eventually it will take longer to say than the actual words.

Your answer to the question regarding the advisability of a man suffering from homosexual temptations to aspire to the pastoral office is right on. I especially appreciate the response regarding the distinction between those who seek the office after being converted and those who sin in that way while in office. I also appreciate the fact that the awareness this man has of his susceptibility to this sin probably supports his application to the office.

This is the hardest part about the Christian journey for me. I care about the people in the LGBTQ+ community. I am a female and for as long as I can remember I was attracted to males but I have friends in the LGBTQ+ community who have always been attracted to same sex. I can’t imagine how hard it must be to have someone tell me I can’t be attracted to the gender of my nature. This topic breaks my heart. 😢

    Outstanding conversation! Thank you.
One danger with using the word "temptation" vs something like "desire" is that temptation often is understood as coming from outside. Jesus was tempted, yet without sin! The homosexual desires are sinful. The desire to steal is sinful, but if I tempt someone else to steal, then they can in theory reject this without sin. So temptation in and of itself isn't sinful, but the indwelling desire for what is wrong is sinful. For many homosexuals the justification for their sin comes exactly from this attempt to say that "being homosexual" isn't sinful. What they often miss is that we are all sinners. Our sinful flesh always will experience desires that are against God's Law. Some experience homosexual desires, for others it is other desires. But I think we all have these. But saying this isn't a bad thing. As expand our understanding of just how sinful we are, Jesus gets to take up all the more space. Yes, Jesus even forgives the one who hates his brother in his heart (even if this never manifests itself in specific acts that "hurt" others).

We would have to be careful using the "this is my body" phrase as what goes hand in hand is conditioning the children whereby they learn that if they "are old enough" to decide how they want to be 'identfied' as then they would also be "old enough" to have consensual sex, opening doors to predators. We live in VERY dangerous times and I pray so hard for our children, that they can survive unscathed (meaning without abuse and indoctrination) to adulthood.

We share that all life has variation . So we accept that each of us are different to others. But if we love and are loved, then we fullfill the word of Jesus.

Keys Ministry and Monument Ministries are two organisations that work with those who struggle with the tempations talked about in this video. I would encorage reaching out to these groups if you struggle with these tempations or if you want to get involved in ministering to those who are.

Hi there. I agree with all you said. But I am wondering how you respond to people arguing that this (right and true) view of or role of women “reduces” them to “only be mothers”. Been there, done that (having been kind of feminist all my life, but brought to the right view in things by power of the Holy Spirit). So maybe you can talk about that more. Because people argue that relation ships are “not only for recreation” and that this is only a “conservative and ancient” way of looking to marriage etc. (I know it’s not true and I also recommend watching Becket Cook on homosexuality). But I would like to hear your answers to that - that surely are way smarter and on point than mine :) love in Christ

From the Luther Classical College website: Being a father is greater than being president, and being a mother is greater than being queen.
So, the question the adversaries ask is "Why force them to be just a mother?" Whereas we ask them, "Why force them to be just another career wage slave?" Fathers have to work because the Bible commands men to provide fiscally, and it is clear from the Bible, everyday experience, and history that women are much better at nurturing children full-time and maintaining a home. Note, per Prv 31, the Bible does not forbid women from doing anything related to business but only from devoting themselves to being a "career woman," just as men should not devoting themselves to being a "house husband."

I hate how the AI has been dragged into this…
A stands for Asexual meaning no sexual attraction and I is Intersex which is a biological condition.. the others though are explicitly or implicitly condemned in scripture though.

So I wrote into Pastor Wolfmullers web page about the "sparkle creed". I think we not only need to say the Apostles Creed and Nicean, but most importantly the Athanasian Creed. The God head descriptions start: "we worship God in Trinity......,neither confusing the person nor dividing the substance"..... Again when speaking about Christ being God and man: one altogether, not by confusion of substance, but by the unity of person.
Trans confusions, same sex attraction confusions. These poor people are confused, in substance and not united to there person God made them to be.
The Athanasian Creed needs to be dusted off not just one time a year but taught and analyzed. Christians need to lovingly point out how when modern thinking thinks the world formed out of confusion, many, many other things are getting confused, human sexuality is one also getting confused. It's not confusing or confused but some teach it is.

The man who has same sex attraction and is remaining celebate with God's help may have a calling to a ministry to others like himself especially those who think they are beneath saving.
If so he needs not just pastoral training but complete knowledge of Scripture, Theology and appologetics so he can respond to objections. Whether ordination is in the picture or not.
