There's something about this camera angle that makes me feel like he's got his case hanging from the wall like a badly hung picture and he's reaching up to play it.
I rarely heard Live Techno performances that really fit into a club environment and are absolutely danceable. This is! Evolving enough to keep the movement, with proper exciting drops! Love it
@@DivKid Yeah, when listening to his tracks, I already found them impressive for something out of a production environment, with all the time in the world in theory... But pulling it off live is really unique!
Great performance, very subtle movements on tembre, cool drops and excellent mixing. He used to have model 1 mixer, however this seems like all being mixed in the rack. Looking forward for the interview and thanks for the post.
thanks the interview will just be on Discord, you can join the call and ask questions (all audio, no video) if you like or just listen along as we chat and I ask questions.
there's less here to get as a slogan on a t shirt (compared to the deleted comment) but thank you ... I agree his cable management is mega tidy, makes the whole thing o accessible and performable.
On Sunday the 2nd of October 2022 at 8pm UK time Ebcidic will be live hanging out with DivKid in the community Discord to talk about this performance, the case, creative approaches and work past and present. To join the hangout, ask questions and chat with us sign up at www.patreon.com/DivKid as this is an exclusive benefit to Patreon supporters.
COuld Ebcidic take some close up pictures of this performance case? I'd especially enjoy seeing what's written on his notes. I need visual aids and notes and have a hard time learning all the secret button press combinations on a lot of kit. All of the meticulous labeling would be something I'd enjoy hearing about.
Hi, the hangout is just held on our Patreon Discord server, it won't be recorded for playing back. But access to Discord and hangouts comes in at the $1 per month tier.
Pure mechanical Industrial - got a Chris Liebing / Jeff Mills feel to it. In my head I could hear the crowd in the room (or outdoors, or disused factory- Detroit maybe !) cheering clapping whistling at the end fade out (and during the set). More of this please. This is so gööd, I can’t stress that enough. P E A C E : ) btw if you ever need visuals- live Vj’ing, mapping etc - get in touch.
Yeah ebcidic always delivers! There's other videos from him on my channel if you're wanting to hear more. But you can head to his band camp to listen to his music bit.ly/EBCIDIC-dropclassi
@@DivKid Cheers Ben, was listening to your epic 2020 Modular Meet last night so got to listen to ebcidic’s set again - great chat and in between the tea cakes some more understanding of modular synthesis filtered into my analogue brain. P E A C E : )
correct response! Total beast mode, so well curated and performed. Check out Ebcidic's releases if you haven't often performed live but sounded like a studio album.
This guy is amazing U seen the harvestman case ? And the stuff he does on that ? Looks like he went all samples now .. except for plonk. Interesting how he uses quadratts for a lot of his audio mixing
the Harvestman / Industrial Music electronics case is fantastic! I'd love that thing. I like how Phil prepares lots of textures and complex sounds then uses those to influence and work against the live beats. Can you imagine the size of the case you'd need for every sound if there were no samples!
Hi Dave, I have a post here on Patreon going through the set up. However it's exclusively for Patreon supporters as one of the benefits they get. I wrote out a PDF talking a bit about the modules as well. www.patreon.com/posts/ebcidic-live-run-71867624 Happy to take comments/questions about it though and chat here if you like.
New music coming from Ebcidic on Friday the 30th of September 2022 which you can find here - bit.ly/EBCIDIC-dropclassi
NOTE - the link isn't active until the release is live on the date.
Excellent news. Thanks for sharing this too. Phil always offers the classiest of techno sets too!
There's something about this camera angle that makes me feel like he's got his case hanging from the wall like a badly hung picture and he's reaching up to play it.
Such cool sounds, yet he still has time to play Tetris on the module bottom left. What skill 🧡
Ebcidic is shamefully underappreciated for both his music and his cable management.
best cable management ive seen thus far
Who under appreciates ?
That’s news to me
yes!!! cable management is on point!!! just like his music!!! I wish one day y can share stage with him to pick up some tricks!!
I don't think I have ever seen such a tidy patch and it sounds absolutely brutal.
Yeah I've been an admiring or Phil's patch cable work since I first saw him perform. Of course the music and performance but impressive cabling!
Saw the video title...
Immediately thought of : EBCDIC (Extended Binary Coded Decimal Interchange Code )
18:00 damn son 🔥
Yeah Ebcidic is on point!

That's absolutely Phil's strength, understanding and technical ability to work with the equipment for something that's absolutely club ready.

7:10 IS EPIC!
Amazing different techno sounds 😊😊😊😊
Check out Phils over work here - bit.ly/ebcidic-bc
super badass, keep the dark techno comming, it's awesome
Best thing is to go support Ebicidic directly on his Bandcamp - bit.ly/ebcidic-bc
Insane level of cable management and some pretty dope sounds.

Your spaghetti is so neat and clean! And the award for outstanding cable management in a modular setup goes to... OMG, folks, it's a THREEPEAT!

thanks for the upload, always cool to hear/see modularists doing industrial stuff!
Nice set!
I love Ebcidic’s stuff, so original.
Very nice Ebcidic!

Which pateron tier do we need to sign up for to see the hangout out? Will it also be recorded for later viewing since i'm in a different time zone ?

Hi Robin, this performance is from over 2 years so the case will have changed for different projects.
That's a killer jam!
love this!
cheers! Me too.
Very very musical like a blown instrument. This is “tha shit”.
Phil definitely builds systems around them as instruments to deliver his music. Always impressive.
Good one!!
Well worth checking out Ebcidic's work, thanks!

holy shit that was good.. sick setup too
Absolutely, well worth checking out some more Ebcidic!
Wow, so flipping good! 😍
Great sound⚡
301 looks lovely
this sounds so sick holy shit

awesome!
Banging
absolutely
Any chance you can tell us the module, upper left near centre, with yellow lit display ?
Indeed I can, let me go look ...
That's the ER-301 from Orthogonal Devices.

Yess!!
yes indeed
The twisted patch leads stress me out but I love the techno!
well it sets up an instrument to be played with controls freely to hand. But yeah wouldn't be so fun to just change out a routing quickly.
Is it a complete backing track played from the sampler, and some percussion layered on top?
I wish I new witch Complex Oscillator I want, hard choices DPO, CS-L, or Trident maybe man I don’t know.
nice one
🤩💪
The world needs to stop making me want a Nerdseq so bad.
me too, one day we'll give in to it :)
@@DivKid Hello i'm ussy which Elektron SFX6 it is similar to very good work and progres + Pyramid, so yo using OttoBam for holl ?
hey maye , u won the lottery ??
you win the lottery than make dark industrial style techno you'd typically find in Berlin. That's where all the lottery winners go, Berghain.
This is Berghain material
absolutely
it seems a basic present 4 christmass
a basic present for Christmas? Yeah, I'm sure he got this in a stocking dangling in front of a fire.
Łoooooooooo :O What?
modular grid?
