Thing I liked about selling ten year + old cars was the parts prices generally hadn't changed over the ten years so cheap as chips to repair and new/used spares everywhere.
Absolutely no apologies necessary Lee. I retired from car sales a year ago, so I know how hard things can be. I worked for a large group franchise and the market you target was the one they ignored. The prep you do on cars is far above what our lot did on units retailing for 4&5 times your £5k bracket. I'd stay away from finance, it just attracts all sorts of agencies that will tie you up in requiring all sorts of accreditations & clobber you if anything goes wrong.

U have a great business model. Keep mostly to your max selling car price point of 5K. Try and stay away from offering finance. Keep at the cheap end of the market. Your business definitely works it seems a lot better than car dealers who try and go big big. Less cogs in the business plan wheel then less problems you will experience. I always think the same. Gotta be 90% + of dealers down here in the South East have some shocking reviews which they don't even care about and continue to be ruthless. Prep and after sales care are not in their vocabulary. I've since decided if Lee is still doing this business in a few years I'm getting on a train and getting my sons first car from him.
Had an odd one Lee few yr back i had an ex hertz cavalier saloon,good wee car BUT it ended up needing a clutch,now simple....you would think but no one could find a clutch,son took it out to take to shop gearbox still had factory seals on it, anyway turns out in the factory as seems hire firms order direct from factory they must had decided to empty their storerooms clutch was out of a 1.8 maybe sri mk 2 cavalier ,gits

I love the car I purchased from you (Not A Cheapie) however, what I didn't love was picking it up after a 70 miles trip to find it with an empty tank, luckily there was an Indian owned garage just down the road from you where i was able to put £50+ petrol in to get me home. I don't know the area at all so trying to find a service station in a strange car with a empty tank would have been a nightmare, even though the Indian run station I used overcharged me, ignoring what the pump recorded, I was glad it was so close. Having said all that, we are very pleased with the car, just try and put a few gallons in the tank before the car gets picked up, I know you weren't there Lee, but surely, as he was in charge, your b/inlaw could have got it sorted before we got there. My local garage checked the car over and say all is good, except for the tracking, which they say was done with the steering wheel off center, so at some point I will need to get it into the local Tyre place and get it done correctly. I would happily buy another car from you and have pointed several people in your direction, I'm just giving the unvarnished truth on my experience.

They check nothing sometimes. Someone I know got rid of their old Skoda Octavia to them, well over 100k, clutch on the way out and dash lighting up like a Christmas tree, paintwork was ok though. For reasons known to no one, when the guy started it up not a single warning light, revved it, turned it off and took the keys. She was expecting scrap and walked with £1200

You are still in there and you are moving along and whilst not being as profitable as you would like you seem to have a good market for your cars. As I have said previously you have good and bad times. You have had a bad time which happens to us all. You need to rest and relax with your family and if you don't put out as many videos then so be it. Other channels do more but are not sponsored and those that are in a lot of cases on it put out only a couple a week or in some cases shorter video. Just my thoughts. Take care Lee.

1.2 kappa engine is a decent one on that i20 better than the 1.4 and far more economical to run cheap tax as well

I had a 56 reg Astra 1.6. Bought it at 5yrs old. Kept it for 8 years, and very little went wrong with it.
