Wilson logistics is really on another level they have treated me and my family great they have even offered their time to help my wife be more comfortable about me being gone and answer any questions she has. I recommend them to anyone that's just starting out and/or has a partner who is against them becoming a trucker they will take care of you.

Big Kev is spot on. I am training right now with Wilson. You start getting paid after you get back from 2-3 weeks of driving with your initial trainer. Then you come back and take the CDL driving test. Once you pass the test and get your CDL-A license, then you go out with another trainer where you will team drive with your trainer fo 30k miles. It is at this point that you begin to be paid. The pay $600/week for the first 10k miles, then $700/wk for the last 20k miles. You then must complete a one year contract driving for Wilson or you will have to pay back a prorated portion of the training cost. The company is who they claim to be. So far, I am very thankful that I decided to train with and work for them and definitely recommend them.

    • @denozo89

I got my CDL through Wilson Logistics last week, September 4th, made some awesome friends during training. I’m out here on my first week of C Seat making money. During D Seat, before CDL, you can get a maximum of $200 a week for an advance to help pay for food. They give you a hotel and a bus ticket. All that is required is to work for them for 1 year and then you don’t have to pay the $3500 for the CDL program. Which isn’t bad considering that they are paying you to get your CDL and you’re getting 1 year of experience under your belt. Loving it so far. Can’t wait to get through this program in the next couple of months and get my own truck to start driving solo! Any questions feel free to ask and I’ll do my best to answer or find out if I don’t know.

You don't get paid before you get your CDL, but for those first two weeks until you do get it they will advance you a few hundred a week. It ain't much, but it will keep you eating. They collect it back at $50 a week after you get your CDL. Most coaches will also spot a student a lunch or dinner here and there as well. After you get your CDL you start earning an actual paycheck.

@@desirp88 When I went through the Missoula location in '19 you were put two to a room in a nearby hotel. The room included breakfast, though that may have changed this whole wuhan flu thing started. The school does buy you lunch for the few days you are there and those were all really good, all you can eat, meals. Dinner was on the student. But you're only in the hotel for about 4 days; you start on Monday and are gone in a truck as a team with a coach by Thurs/Fri. After that it's all on you.

@@desirp88 So I've been driving for nearly two years now. Currently pulling for Amazon. ABSOLUTELY the worst job I've had since getting my CDL; Amazon will work you as hard as they can within the limits of the DOT regulations and there is no room for wiggle; if you have some personal stuff pop up Amazon doesn't care; they WILL hold it against you. The only reason I stick with it is because of the guy I work for; I don't work directly under Amazon. We're contracted. But I've hauled for about six companies already and I can say that Amazon is absolutely the worst in caring about drivers. They don't give a Flying Hillbilly F*** about anybody that works for them, only the bottom line. There are many companies that will train you and I would urge you to see ANY of the others and run from Amazon as fast as you can. I have my reasons for staying right now, but it won't be more than 30 more days from now at which time I'll be able to drive for a company that cares. Best of luck to you.

I'm ex Wilsonlogistics. I can confirm everything that guy said is true. BUT I do have a fairy tale that happened to me and that's the reason I quit.
I'll make it as short as possible. My trainer and I picked up a flower load and had to deliver at 10 different locations and unload by hand nothing was on pallets. I worked for 35 hours straight no stop no sleep no break no food. I called my dispatcher and asked to get paid extra for that. He said yes and after A few days he said that's just how flower loads are so I didn't get any extra pay. That wasn't the only reason I left that company but it was the main reason. I'm looking for a new trucking job now.

Our local guys make like 28 an hour. Lease usually takes home 70-80k pretty easily. For a beginner company they’re one of the better ones

That's good for no experience. Shit I wished they had that back in the day and all those luxuries you new guys will never know

When I started in October it was:
Full 48: .40-.45 per mile plus fuel mileage bonus.
      Western 10: .45 per mile.
      Heavy Haul: .50 per mile
There is also an I5 fleet, but I don't know what it pays
