Spaniards try to emulate (a little) the French pronunciation, because we see these brands in television advertisements and it sounds better for everyone. If we kept our pronunciation we would say Yves Saint Laurent or Givenchy in a very worst way 😂

Ana's "r" in these words is strong like italian and spanish because of the accent of where she's from but in some places of brazil the "r" would be close to the french one.

Hj em dia aqui em Recife muitas crianças(classe média pra cima) estão puxando o sotaque de São Paulo sem nem perceber (quase como acontece em Portugal, que fizeram até uma matéria sobre). Minha professora de inglês até chegou a me perguntar uma vez se era normal falarem assim entre o pessoal da minha geraçãokk (adolescente ou menos) pq o filho dela tava falando com sotaque do sudeste nunca tendo saído daqui e tendo ambos os pais recifenses.

I think Elita did well representing how we Indonesians would pronounce these brands. It’s either we try to pronounce them with our own spelling, or we would attempt the English versions but still with our own accent.
There would be a small minority of people who try to pronounce them in French, but this is super rare. Even the actual people who are loyal costumers of these branded items would assume that the English pronunciations are the correct ones. It is a playful language made for arts, games and sports, fashion, gastronomy, full of allophony, the opposite of the logic of language and actually healthy linguistics. @@Jearrow it's no shit for her. She said the exact way virtually every spanish would name those brands. The easiest way for her could have been just to pretend we name them in the french manner.

@@Satin_Persona_Latina Eu sempre ouvi falarem igual ela falou. "Luí Viton". Normalmente se falaria o "s", mas acho que pegou fama o jeito francês e a galera acostumou.
Acho que se for parar pra ler, a maioria dos brasileiros leriam diferente, mas como virou marca famosa, pessoal repete como ouviu.
Mas isso pode variar de região pra região, de grupo pra grupo, etc.

No way, Anna. I am Brazilian. Not from são Paulo tho. I'm from Brasília, and I have never ever ever heard someone say Givenchy with the stress on "ven". I am not the best reference for brands. Don't pay too much attention to it, but this one I know for sure. At least in the midwest, where I am from, I never heard anyone say it that way.
