    Feel the same way but towards Sweden. Always dreamed of moving there. And yes especially compared to Scandinavia the work/life balance in America is cra-zy. Like we have to beg for two weeks off of work the entire year and lord forbid you get sick and you have to use all your pto. It’s such a mess and doesn’t allow any room for accidents, long vacations, or illnesses or just life in general. Reason why everyone is so stressed out here. It’s all about go, go, go make money, make money. It’s so amazing to me how in Sweden everyone gets a 1 month vacation with any job.

      Yes, the vacation days in Europe, in general, are much more reasonable. Thanks so much for sharing your perspective as well in relation to your desire to live in Sweden. I studied abroad in Stockholm for six months, and everything was great (minus the weather. I found out I'm not a cold/snow/darkness kinda girl). haha! The quality of life is there for sure, though!

    ...don't think we _didn't_ notice that ring on your left hand... 😊
    Because of your - and others like you - influence and sharing of your experiences, my daughter will be transferring to the Universitat de València, Spain to complete her undergrad in Engineering. Question: What is your opinion on the overall perceived value of a EU Engineering degree vs. a US Engineering degree?

    • @NaturallyKenya
      @NaturallyKenya  3 роки тому +3

      Which one? I was wearing a few on my hands. 😉 Haha!
      Also, so happy your daughter will be experiencing studying abroad!! Truly an eye-opening time in one's life. Thanks for the question as well. I'll try to address it in another upload on my channel more focused specifically on studying Engineering in Europe.

      Great idea! I always tell people to live in the city they THINK they'd desire (and rent, not buy). Things may be different than they appear. I feel like Rome is one of those cities. 😅

      At first, exposure and Netflix! It helps to be around Italian 24/7 in Rome. I immediately was occupied with my university classes in Italy (in English) when I arrived. If you can set aside months for full intensive Italian courses, it’s much better. It took some stumbling and falling for me to run on my own. Haha. Not sure if I 100% recommend my route. 😂

Maybe you could do a video on that topic? its my DREAM to live in italy and learn italian (isnt it the most SENSUAL Language of all times? :D) and eventually work or teach german or english (grown up in germany)

    Agree with the work-life balance comment....here in the US, it leaves something to be desired, esp in the NYC area.

    My husband and I have to choose between Rome and Milan. OMG I have fallen far down that rabbit hole. I can see reasons for moving to both cities. The beauty of Rome entices me but I worry I won't have an easy time making friends or networking (I'm in UX and animation). What do you think? Are you happy in Rome or would you move to Milan if you could?

    • @NaturallyKenya
      @NaturallyKenya  3 роки тому +2

      I'm happy in Rome, but for your type of industry and the desire to create an excellent job network, I would recommend Milan. I think the city is more international with more job opportunities, hence more of a chance for you to meet more people. (To be honest, socializing is a bit limited with the pandemic restrictions in Italy right now, though). Not saying you won't have the same success in Rome, but you may find more stability for you and your husband in Milan. I love Rome, though! Just my two cents. Haha!

    Work life balance in the US is horrible. I worked about 80 hours/week for almost 10 years as an RN. The US has a lot to learn from other countries in that department.

    • @NaturallyKenya
      @NaturallyKenya  3 роки тому +2

      Ciao! Yes. I’d definitely say my overall experience in Italy has been positive. If you haven’t already, make sure to check out my pros and cons videos about living here. I have been approached with discrimination, which has also happened in the US, so I can’t say one place is better than another, just that I consider the US more diverse overall. Will I ever move back to the US? Who knows! Life is unpredictable... Haha!
