  • Falkenbach just might be the best pagan/viking metal band ever to emerge from Germany and this particular album could very well be their best album. How come? Explained in the video.

A great folk / pagan band. The first two albums will always have a special place in my collection, but I also really dig the more folksy and melodic shift that took place on "Ok nefna tysvar ty". The music, generally, isn't very complicated, but really well composed, where nothing sounds repetitive. Some melodies are truly magnificent, like the "whistling" at the end of Ufirstanan folk, 5:10-end.

Mish1n Exactly! And I think widely underrated band, too.

Great record. A teenage favourite. The intro to the first song still gets me. So majestic.

Love Falkenbach anybody reviewing them deserves a subscribe in my opinion. You ought to do the classic that is Asa. It's only a shame now that Vratyas seems to have completely disappeared but if there is never any more material from whoever this mysterious guy is, which i have now assumed will be the case sadly, at least what he managed to put out across all the albums was very good indeed.

A classic release. If you ask me to name a pagan metal album it would be this.

Heck yes. This band got me into metal. When Gjallarhorn Will Sound changed everything.

5:05 Falkenbach isnt a pure viking band but more broadly a germanic pagan band, so its not weird at all. And you didnt mention Denmark even though Vikings were mostly danes :-/.

Yeah, true that. And sorry for not mentioning Danes. I guess I should have. Sorry Denmark, Rauta is a goofie.

Great nostalgic album, but those de-tuned vocal parts make me cringe these days haha :D
