  • When making a career choice, there are a number of factors that trainees consider, such as type of research, mentorship, and geography. One factor that is often overlooked is belonging. Considering belonging as a factor in career decision making is important because belonging is a pillar for workplace thriving. The goal of the session is to offer trainees a space to reflect on their intersectional identities and the impact of systemic issues on individuals, groups, and communities as it relates to their career development in the field of biomedical research.
This session includes an introduction by Jenn Wiggins, NIH OITE Wellness Advisor, followed by breakout rooms to discuss prompts.
