Thanks for answering my question! I will go through everything again. This 6,5mm is the correct distance between the two nuts on the clutch release plunger and the clutch housing itself.
Can you guys do a write up, or walkthrough on how to get to the o2 sensor on a JDM mini? I'm not sure if I need to tear off the entire intake manifold to get to it.
Question for next week, Philip: Do you recommend a Mini aftermarket clutch + flywheel kit as the best available upgrade for an injected road car? MED? KAD? Were you to film an installation video some day in future, given this is an engine out job, what else do you recommend refreshing/ upgrading while the motor assembly is on the bench?
Great tech tips - thanks for adding the time marks for each section, that's a nice QOL thing. QUESTION: Have you guys ever added a supercharger kit to a A-series motor, and if what did you use, and how was the installation and resulting performance/reliability? FYI - I have a carbed 1275 4-speed (totally rebuilt by 7 Enterprises a few years back), and I loves me some supercharger whine. =)
@@Dagowly83 I suppose the advantage is that the home tuner can work on it when you start messing with engine changes. I have to say from the experience i've had with the software it's not as easy to work on as some of its rivals.
Great videos, keep up the good work. also: If i can suggest a topic to hit at some point; E10-fuel is a major threat for any classic car enthousiast. Is there any way of saving our beloved mini's from modern fuel?
Tommy A Have a 2000 Mini Cooper ( Final Run ) at 60 to 65 mph Rear end shimmy, could it be Bearings ? I am in USA car is in England . just looking for some info.
I have a question, my car is a 1000cc one ita have a hs4 carb, it overflowed because the floating needle is damged, but now petrol comming out near the gasket that carburetor fix to the engine, what is the problem 😕
Nice to hear my old Mini buddy Bill Dean, is asking this interesting question

Where are the aftermarket computers available, and do you have more info.
pls. mention or put some links to available plugable tuneable ECU's (mine is a Japanese 1999 spi 1275 mini). Thanks. keep up the good work
Dont specialist components do a plug in ECU for spi/mpi? - commented before I watched.
They do! They also do the 5 port inlet kits. You won't get mega power from them though. You really need head porting and a matching cam for that.

My question... I just bought a used mini that sat for a long time. What are the first things I should be doing to it? Where do I prioritize service?
change all fluids, new plugs, new leads, and go from there.

Sounds like your float needle is damaged?
Think he meant which bearings for the wheels are the best quality.
Hi again keep up those vids.
Can't find my serial number.
1973 mini 850 cc
Hi guys, can I use any regular coolant for a 93 rover mini (auto). Thanks!
The most common clutch problem on spi is using a 180mm plate instead of the 190mm.
Your car is seriously shagged if the flywheel slips on the crank. If it's injection the ignition timing would also slip and stop the engine pdq.
Power from an MPi? Well.. I'm at 160bhp so far 😎
How 😮?
