Nice work on that edge. The one thing that people seem to forget is to practice patience when you work on your cards. Time and moisture can heal many different issues.
Thx for the educational videos Kurt! I've been watching for a few years. Have you or is it even possible to rectify a "pimple" or bubble on paper 70 or 80's cards? I have atleast 1 of each decade beautiful card with a small bubble i guess. A 72' WIlt, 76' Payton rookie and 79' Ozzie Newsome. I owned these cards before grading was a thing, not that it matters. More so you understand it's not abt a flip just helping the card be the best it can be, lol.
@@nextplanet2960 great question. I know what you’re talking about and I see these on Cards from the early 70s till about 1980. I’ve actually dissected a few of these cards and found that there are clumpy pieces of pulp that will result in the little pimples or sometimes it’s a little mountain of extra paint underneath the surface. The times I’ve taken these apart. I learned it’s a permanent issue and it’s not something that you can get back to normal because that was the normal build. Does that sound like what you’re seeing?
@@timmayray574 similar to what I’m doing with this card. But jump on my corner and edge playlist right here on UA-cam. I have demonstrations on there you can check out.
Sorry this question has nothing to do with this particular video. But do you have any experience with super glossy card like 96-97 Flair Showcase? The surface on those cards scratch very easily, can scratches from glossy cards be removed?
@@joelhenderson-xo1lm great question, I’m totally familiar with Flair. I bet most of those are going to be permanent. They’re super shiny and the surface is soft so they scratch easy. But I would still do 10 minutes with Card polish on them to see what you can reduce. Some will probably clean up better than others.
@@DavidGutierrez-kj8tm you could do that process that I showed you in the video, but you would only want to use one light mist of spray per pad. I have an 89 upper deck demonstration too.
Did u touch it from the side only cause it's a sticker, and the top of the card is different material?? On a normal card would u touch the dent from the top with card spray ? Or on edge dents like that do u always touch the q tip to the side ? Kind of hard to explain what I'm asking I'm not sure if you get what I'm asking?
@@robmckay7289 I could put card spray on the sticker part and it would just sit there as a little bead. I had to touch the paper part to lift up the plastic top. Paper cards versus chrome cards would be different as well. Paper will move, but plastic doesn’t move. Does that make sense?
The good news is that it is very easy to remove. You can use card polish and you'll remove all of it in likely less than a minute. Pick up another card with wax on the back and test it first. @@brad6670 yes, light abrasions, and little light scuffs clean up well. If it’s a sharp defined scratch, that will likely be permanent. I can show you some stuff. ua-cam.com/play/PLiqe45zwSJ3EuHl0v7pY5ufldb6nb3neP.html&si=EXNM3n0mftTmulF9
