- On a couple of occasions, towards the end of the Purple rain tour, Prince started the show with 17 days behind a closed curtain just before the real opener of the concert Let's go crazy.

I saw this tour in Buffalo and Syracuse and both shows were amazing. Especially to a 15 year old guitar player! But neither setlist contained this funk masterpiece.
The amount of funk just here at this show nobody could ever match back then or even now the passion the maestro the level the charisma the fashion the comedy the glitter

Ha! Im pretty sure prince borrowed this line straight from Jimi Hendrix's Woodstock performance " you can all go home if you want to, we're just jamming." I knew it to back then because it was on the Jimi portion of the triple record Woodstock album of my mom's that I used to listen to all the time ( well the Hendrix part was all the time, anyway)

I went to see this tour the last night they played at Nassau Coliseum. They didn't play this though.
The beginning sounds similar to "High Fashion" by The Family. I wonder if he wrote both songs around the same time?
They were recorded 10 months apart (meaning written since Prince always recorded songs just after having written them).
