- On December 3, 1999, six Worcester (MA) firefighters were killed in a fire at the Worcester Cold Storage and Warehouse building. #MaydayMonday host Tony Carroll and Bobby Halton speak with John Sullivan, former deputy chief of the Worcester (MA) Fire Department, about the event, the lessons learned from the incident, and the legacy of those members who gave their lives at this fire.

I shot a photo of a firefighter's helmet in Worcester in the early '90s. The number piece had been hand-painted. On it, along its border, were the companies the firefighter had worked in. I've always wondered if this helmet belonged to the officer who was one of the six.
Sounds like they didn’t do pre fire planning on this building

From reading 3000 Degrees, they did, but due to the layout of the storage building they couldn't be heard
