Regarding stereo using unison - you can reduce unison stereo to mono on the global tab - this gives the advantage of detune always being centred around the root note, rather than second OSC being 30cents up (effectively detuning the root +15cents from true pitch). This also frees up the second OSC and gives some options with the stack modifier too. Also for reese stuff I imported the original virus saw as it has a bit of fizz/harmonic content, snap, and a slight sine curve

If the root is 15 cents + in the Oscillators for example, in the global tab you can subtract the whole patch 15 cents, bringing you back to center without shrinking the stereo field. There are advantages to doing it the way Jon speaks of, but sometimes, cool sounds come about in the default settings.
