Definitely his own. Sometimes I hear Willie Nelson but it can range to Eddie vendor. Crazy good
Heard this song about 20 times and just pieced together the twisted line and the play on the word twister. This dude is fantastic with his choice of lyrics, and the hip-hop-level attention to detail in them. Pure country with a lot more added and hidden underneath.
Something can be said of patches
There is going to be MASSIVE expectations for his second album. American Gothic is also great.

Hip hop level attention to detail is an incredibly apt description. I'm still finding lyrics and rhyme schemes I hadn't noticed yet.
