I have thd CentriPro Aquivar AB2 with 3 blinks. Replaced the transducer and still getting 3 blinks.
System has been sitting several months without use but was working fine several months ago.

Howdy thanks for the video. I have a Franklin subdrive 75 control box. I had 5 hydrants installed last October and now this being almost 1 year later. My pump is constantly on and I was told I had a leak in one of my lines. I dug up all 5 holes by hand and I am not finding a leak anywhere. Can this control box malfunction to keep the pump always engaged?

Yes it can. The problem is that the pump is turned off when the pressure gets up to a "set point". And as the pressure nears that set point, the pump slows down. But, when you slow down a centrifugal pump, the pump is not able to build as much pressure. So, there is a possibility that the pump will be continually running really slow while not moving water. If you have the pump hanging on plastic pipe, then this issue won't last over a few hours. It will simply melt the pipe and drop the pump in the well.
Or if you have pvc casing, it will melt the casing to the pump. make sure you turn off the pump so this won't happen.
the best way to diagnose is to close all discharge valves leaving the system. If the system builds pressure and shuts off, then you don't need to worry about the pumping system. Then if you open a valve and you hear water running, then you have a leak.
If you don't have a main shut off valve, get one. It is the best way to diagnose this issue.

@@jimblair1 So this is something that could have just started? I've had this system for 15 yrs now. 2 yrs ago I got a new subdrive 75 control box and pressure gauge but that was installed over a year ago also. This has just been going on for maybe 2 months. And thank you very much for the info. This is driving me crazy after not finding a leak.

@@DonovanAP Yes, it is possible to just start. If the pump is a bit worn and can't build the pressure that it usually does, then this could just occur. But without a main shut off valve, you can't diagnose it.

@@jimblair1 Thank you. I'll look into it. I had a company come out and they pulled some of the pipe up and did 2 pressure tests and told me it has to be a leak in the lines. So frustrating.

That is so terrible you had to go through this. It is a lot of work. Worse so if your plumber does know exactly what they are doing it can take for ever to figure it out and a massive bill… It’s a great feeling being the hero and fighting this stuff out promptly and repairing it in a timely Fasion.

I have the 4 red lights going. Pump or motor bound. Turned it off to reset it, but the same error code persists. This is on the same system you show, Aquavar SPD. Any suggestions?

Chrissychrissy, it is very likely that your pump is bound. That means that it is trying to turn but can't. It might be debris in the pump or bad motor windings or bearings. It probably means you are going to have to replace the pump. If i were standing in front of the unit, i would turn off the power for at least one minute to let the capacitors bleed down. Then i would disconnect 2 of the 3 hot wires the pump and switch them. Then turn the power back on for 10 seconds. Then switch them back. That will turn the pump backwards and then forwards. I have seen that unstick a pump before. If not, then you probably need a professional to come check it out. It could be that the pump is bound. It also could be a bad VFD.

@@jimblair1 My reply is not showing so I will try again just in case. Thank you for the information! Just want to double-check on which wires to switch. I will provide three photographs for you to look at. I am assuming that you are speaking of the hot wires on the control unit. Not the ones on the pump itself. I will add a link in the next comment.

@@chrisssychrisssy i mean the wires that leave the controller going to the pump. Switch any two. Make sure you turn power off until all lights go out. Run 10 seconds and then put them back

@@jimblair1 Trying to send you photographs, but it disappears. There are two places that the same wires connect. On the board it says Output to Motor T1, T2, T3. Or below that, wires are connected via small individual boxes.
