Throughout his D-Day concert tour, he keeps re-visiting that room in "Amygdala" and it's almost as if that whole series of concerts was him doing all of that unpacking and working thru' his traumas, together with and in front of ARMYs during his shows. On the 3rd night of his Final concerts in Seoul, he gets very emotional onstage, just ugly sobbing and crying out in the open, as he performs "Snooze", "Amgydala" and "Dear My Friend"... and he finally does walk thru' that door on the very last day of his D-Day concert tour. Word is, he might have left Agust D behind for good. After his trilogy of "Agust D", "D-2" and "D-Day" mixtapes and album, and his trilogy of "Daechwita", "Haegeum" and "Amygdala" music videos, we might no longer hear of Agust D. From here on, it may only be Suga and Yoongi. And I don't know if it's a coincidence or if it might have been intended, but "Agust D" came out in 2016, "D-2" came out in 2020, and "D-Day" came out in 2023. So it's taken 3 mixtapes/albums and 7 years between them for him to heal.
This is the most realistic depiction of mental illness that I’ve ever seen. The amygdala is also the part of the brain that stores trauma memories, making it responsible for intrusive thoughts, PTSD symptoms and contributes to your fight or flight response. In his song The Last, he says Min Yoongi is dead, because he killed him. I feel like this idea of killing the painful part of himself and starting over with a new persona is the way he chooses to cope with trauma.
This MV was just so raw and powerful, the lyrics are so full of raw emotion which I can partly relate to. And I just love Yoongis acting also there were bits that made me cry and get emotional. I can relate to it on such a personal level too as I no exactly what he is saying in this MV and song as I've been thru all that. He also said F**k to trigger warnings aswell (which this mv triggered me so much but yet Yoongis voice comforted me in a way only I can understand) Also I could relate so much to the lyrics and message in the song as I suffer from bad depression and I know exactly how he feels as yoongi is the one I can relate to the most
In his show D-Day he goes through the door symbolizing that he overcame the past issues. He said that in Schwita, his show . It took him years to heal.
The amygdala is commonly thought to form the core of a neural system for processing fearful and threatening stimuli , including detection of threat and activation of appropriate fear-related behaviors in response to threatening or dangerous stimuli.. This is really hard for me as an OG. The dark room is the represention of his mind ( in depress mode) I think where memories are trap. There he remembers all the darkest moment of his life. We as a OG ARMY knew about the shoulder of course, the self harmed, the suicide attempt, the mum heart surgery but all this was before BTS debut. Now the scene where he's trying to get out and he couldn't. Remind me of the only time he couldn't perform and was stuck on the bathroom floor crying. And he couldn't make himself leave the bathroom at the concert venue even to perform. Saddest day of my ARMY life. That concert was stop after 2 songs too many thing was going on. One member was at the hospital, Suga locked himself in the bathroom. Member were crying, ARMY was crying. Horrible memory. Suga after that wrote a letter asking for forgiveness and that he is ashamed and want to forget that day (something along those lines.) but it represent also him trying to overcome his depression, wanting badly but couldn't. Thank god his feeling much better. Look how far he comes from having panic attacks to touring on his own. I'm crying for so many reason.
My interpretation of the end is that, if he could, that past version of himself just wouldn't have even taken that ride on his motor bike, if he knew that the accident would happen and put him through so much pain and struggle. But, like they say in the song, what's done is done - you can't change it no matter how much you might want to. Now, it's time to do the best with the circumstances that you have and try to move on. So unfortunately, the version of him from his past can't do anything to save him from this - he can't change what happened.
Thank you for your thoughts on Yoongi’s soul baring AMYGDALA,.. Min Yoongi is so real and raw,… I love his intensity.. 🔥♥️💜🐾🥰 Yoongi is so determined and brave… ILHSM
It is amazing how many people - not all - we (as OG Army saw it/understood) but the rest (world wide)......either misinterpreted or innocently by passed, Suga's first message of his line.: "I Don't Know Your Name'". Not the first time S rapped about his 'Haters' ...the voyage/journey/battles he and his brothers had to undergo. To get to where they are. In S.Korea (aka Asian Culture)....your parents RULE. So Suga did the unheard of - HEIS THE ONLY MEMBER IN BTS - BACK THEN - WHO'S PARENTS LITERALLY DISOWNED HIM. CUT THE BRIDGE. HE HAD 'SHAMED HIS FAMILY' by joining BTS and becoming an 'IDOL". Back in that time...when his family and neighbors...only wanted him to kill him self studying and become "Their IDOL". Aka........Doctor/Lawyer/Financial CEO of a huge business....... He *gasp*.....went against the grain - UNHEARD OF - n tried out for a lil known company. Rolling the dice and KNOWING.....this was his destiny. But? his parents/family - DISOWNED HIM - back then. Rightfully so. S.Korea have a RIGID NUMBER OF RULES SET IN PLACE FOR THEIR KIDS. You STEP ONE FOOT OUT OF BOUNDS? ....Your Family will shun/cut off/ politely but have NOTHING to DO with you. Do I need to deep dive into the Education system there and how it is the MOST RIGID IN THE WORLD..... Where 13/14/15 yr olds are forced to literally attend school from 8 am until 11pm? And beyond? And is why S.Korea - Suga's Home - Has the HIGEST RATE - TO DATE - OF TEEN AGE/PLUS S....in the World? Suga went through all of those things in Amygdala. But by sayin "I DON'T KNOW YOUR NAME"........he was singing to ALL OF US. Acknowledging that ALL OF US ,,,went through and ARE going through......hardships. Presently. Maybe we not accepted...w/e.......maybe that door may remain CLOSED...............look at him now. LOOK AT WHO HE IS. Today. Of course his parents love him now. They live in a Mansion provided by him. Hmmmmm😑😑.....better him than me. Point is: Amydagla was written about HIS past trauma....yet managed to intertwine and remind US...of our past fuckery. Is why this song should go down in History. The thousands around the world it has effected from then til now? Mind Breaking. Of course it won't. Written by an ASIAN. will NEVER win a Grammy. No wonder that fuckery has lost it's Global audience and we Army.......move on else where Borahea 💜💜
I watched an explanation video. In the MV, he was trying to hide or run away from the bad memories and that is what created the monster in the other MV’s. In this video, he couldn’t suppress or hide his traumas from the past and in the end killed the monster that was trying to leave the room (escape the pain) in the end the monster died because he ultimately faced the trauma in his life. Hope I explained it right.💜
There's no monster at all. The yoongi in the dark side representing his past traumas/pain that present day yoongi was trying to free shows that this dark past might keep popping up still but he already feels liberated that it wont affect him anymore as he had already let it go and he's continue to move on despite of that past trauma still existing in his amygdala.
I think the one who stuck in the dark room is August D who had bad influence on SUGA because all what he wents through.. and in the end when yoongi couldn't help him it means the clos chapter of August d.
How was the concert, Rich? Was it as fun as the live streams showed it was? 🥺🥺🥺 My take: The YG on the bike was real world YG and the YG in the black room was the YG in his amygdala, he had to stay there to deal with the traumas in the real world which is why biker YG stopped trying to let him out.
Hi! Dont worry! We filmed this few hours before Agust d New York concert and I had my concert outfit and make up on allready 💜 We listened the whole album in the live stream and then left straight to the concert 💜

I totally agree
You are seriously amazing with your interpretations, really aware and spot on. Awesome reaction 💜 and amazing song by Suga/Agust D 💜💜😂
I’m so glad you got to watch this before seeing the amazing staging of this in person last night. It blew me away - even just seeing a blurry stream!

I feel the same. He speaks to me on a very personal level.
@@TheChampOfMedium that's so true that's partly why he is my wrecker

I always love your reactions but this one is special! Tina, you rock! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Could you tell me who Tina is? Is she his sister? Or a fellow army?
Tina is my friend and moderator for my channel, she came to visit for the Agust D concert.
I couldn't watch this on my own, but I decided to watch with you. Thanks for being a 💜 space.
glad i could provide that for you angela

He wants to save himself. But we can never change the past. All we can do is cope in healthier ways.
