That's their traditional not quite an axe/not quiet a machete all purpose bush knife/agricultural doo dad Probably cost no telling how much to have one made in the USA. The smith probably gets 10 or 20 USD equivalent. Not much for his work

It's a billhook, better than a hatchet as it's more versatile. Only thing a hatchet would be better at is splitting dry seasoned wood.
