- We hosted the first ever DriveTribe event, DriveTribe at Haynes Motor Museum, and Richard Hammond decided to peruse the car park to see what you guys had all turned up in. There was plenty of material for him to roast...

There is a Jordie that did the murdered out on an XJ that is also rightfully wicked. Taking classic stuffy lux and just making them menacing is brilliant

I love how you can hear his love for cars as he goes round. He started nearly 30 years ago because he loved cars and that's still wonderfully true.

Of the three of them, I sometimes think Hammond is probably the greater car lover/enthusiast. He just loves anything on wheels and is happy to talk about it in such an approachable manner.

Some say its so menacing, when you drive it you turn into a kray twin.
Its so brash and offensive. However at the same time it still maintains its Rolls elegance and beauty. Deffo a weird mix

The growing crowd behind Hammond as the video goes makes me laugh; this was a fun one. lots of great, well loved cars in that car park! If it looks like it's been driven, any flaws (rust, peeling paint, etc) is automatically forgiven. Some are just meant to be driven and outside!
I really liked that. Zero car snobbery and a great mix of classic, everyday & unusual cars. All equally appreciated. Top stuff Richard.

Top Gear in the later episodes with them became parody though. I'm no fan of the "new" top gear; your trio's staged stunts ruined the show for me though

It must be weird being Richard Hammond, being followed by all those zombies all the time.
My mate went past the crowd and just went up to Hammond after recording saying “say hello to my mate Bertie” and Hammond being a legend did exactly that! Was an amazing day there at Haynes and was lovely to meet Mike Fernie again ( hope the crankshaft is done ) and missed meeting Richard this time.. but thanks for putting on the show!

I loved the show when I was there. I brought my Trabant there and a few people loved it. Thanks for making this happen. cant wait for the next one. :)

As someone from East Germany I'm not surprised only a few people loved it, appalling cars that they were. You keep a spare tie in your boot in case the fan belt dissolves like back in the day? :D
Glad to hear the Hamster has had a change of heart regarding the Beetle.
This is what being a car enthusiast is all about--being enthusiastic about cars of all shapes, sizes, speeds, condition, etc. - bravo :)

I'm glad he mentioned the Beetle. He's really ragged on them in various episodes of things. I drive a stock 1972 SuperBeetle, I was wondering how he'd react.
He should take this on the road. Go to various places in the world; the USA in particular. I'd bring my Beetle many hundreds of miles and pay to get in to a random car show to have Richard Hammond give it the car-journalist once-over and chat with him for a minute about it.

That was a great day out, lots of different cars. Some to swoon over and others to....eye roll at 😆 Richard Hammond still loves his cars. Roll on the next one 👍

I had to pause the vid at the beginning with that old school VW. My first watercooled car was a 1981 Scirocco S.. and I named it the Silverhornet (Pink Panther) and I was a VW tech for 20 years so I love the old school VDubs.

I never get this. Whenever one of them does anything, there's always someone who says the other two should be there too. There's hundreds if not thousands of hours of Top Gear/Grand Tour footage where they're doing stuff together and they're still making Grand Tour content. They should be allowed to do things individually too.
This was delightfully entertaining and brought some genuine smiles to my face. Please, more of these...and maybe with the other two salty blokes making appearances as well 😉🤣

This is a great video. There was a recent video of Jeremy and Harry just talking about Land Rovers for 20 minutes, also great. The best content from these guys is them just casually looking at cars and casually talking about cars.

I had the quirky 1990 Trabant 601s but he got distracted by the police standing by the Subaru's. There always next time for him to see it tho. :)

That's a V8? Mustang one I guess? Insane. I love how that Focus looks, shane that the ST looks plain, the RS is rare and expensive and ULEZ charges increase the cost of owning it.

I was at the October Haynes Coffee walk and the real standout was a twin engined Mini Cooper. Loved it. The LeMans Gulf inspired Porsche Taycan was also pretty cool (if you like that sort of thing). A great morning out bettered improved by having bacon roll and wander around The Newt (just up the road).

If I brought my car over from the U.S. to this event and Richard Hammond walked by it, he would fall over unconscious due to boredom. It's a silver 2000 Honda Accord DX (base model), completely unmodified. The only thing it has going for it is the manual transmission. Quite unusual for the U.S. But the car is incredibly reliable.

I was there, driving the only Saab at the event, great day out meeting Mike was great (more importantly seeing the 620ti ).

1:55 - A surviving Proton in the UK! I bet it's one of the last of its kind.
Last time I checked there's about 150 of these compacts / satrias left on UK roads, most being of the GTi variant. The car is the video is a 1.6 SRi 10th anniversary edition, 1 of 2 still on the roads. (I'm the owner btw 😏).
Loving the love for the Roller and the Mk1 Granada both cars I have owned!
This is what i call a roast (unlike May's roast). You must do a video of Hammond Roasting motorbikes next. And yes i know, that this mostly a car based channel, but you let Hammond do a motorbike related video once before.
I just hope y'all are doing these events regularly because it's going to be a while before I get over to Europe for work.
