_"The game is over but I wanted to play more!"_ That's so refreshing to hear about Hearthstone. The exact reason I love control matches so much, when you play to have fun instead of to win as fast as possible / survive.
I can't tell you how much I miss the old control warrior Elise matchups for this exact reason. It's a game of chess: who can gain the most armor efficiently while keeping some pressure and managing resources
This is exactly why I, as a player, can't bring myself to play aggro decks. I understand why other people play them, or even favor them but they go against my personal nature. When I play, I want to see cool combos, like super high value Lyra turns, I want to play as many cards as possible. I don't want to claw for every inch on the board hoping to just survive.
Iherrebout Looks like someone miss the old control warrior match up post alex nerf like me before rngfiesta of Justi and Elise meaning the greedy built wouldn't have the upper hand anymore. I salute you sir.
The dragon variant of this deck is so much fun. Cuts out a lot of the big spell stuff like medivh and free from amber but you get operative, primordial, and netherspite for late game. Discovering lyras in the mirror usually makes them concede pretty fast
I play Horror with my Lyra just to have that spare spell and in the last 13 of 20 games I have gotten a free Pint size from Lyra (multiple times within games) it is a good idea to have in terms of the way I play and the way my deck works.
I love how streamers are having fun with this game again. MsoG nearly destroyed Hearthstone but Un'Goro pushed it back to the best state it's been since release. What an amazing expansion (except Quest Rogue lol)
People don't like it because most decks can't interact with it. If the opposing rogue has a good opening, you just lose, and it's a common sight on the ladder. It's just annoying to play against.
the mass pain spell works well, been running one copy in my priest deck since the start of the season. I had the card that reduced enemy attack by 3 but found that was too situational and shadow word horror just often finds itself useful. I also run raptor eggs in that deck though so I always get use of horror. Happens to be really good against any version of divine spirit priest
Kibler, just wanted to mention a comment you made about pint sized potion early in the video, don't assume that pint size potion makes potion of madness better, it does in a small number of situations, but in most situations its actually a non-bo. You often get something you can steal with the combo, but the damage from that minion is too low to trade off with any valuable minions on their side, and their minions are too small to trade with the one you stole in most cases. Sure it gets some value, but its infrequently enough to justify the use of 2 cards. I do like them in the same deck though, because they compliment each other in you're playstyle.
@Brian Kibler, how would you play this deck against a standard dragon priest? I kinda get messed up since my main aoe clear is usually dragonfire potion unless i get lucky pyromancer combos or lyra draws. I usually just end up getting out traded because I lack any hard removal... What cards would you replace in the deck to help counter the match up if you even need to?... Or is it just a bad matchup?
Ábel Hodász you could make a hunter deck yourself, they're super cheap and if you don't run rat packs you could get away with running 0 epics or legendaries
If you steal a Mana Wyrm using Potion of Madness, does it gain +1 from stealing it and/or any other spells you cast?? I.e. If you stole MW at 2 attack, and then cast another spell during your turn would it go to 3 attack and would it still be under your control?
Everybody hates quest rogue, but I find buffadin and Taunt Warrior to be more frustrating since there is almost no way you actually deal damage outside of freeze mage. Atleast with Quest Rogue you can rush them down and out tempo, plus they have to have good draws where as buffadin and TW just playing what ever they can because most of their deck is generally great cards when you take out the quest, and become much better with that addition. TL;DR Quest rogue isn't as bad as people make it out to be imo, they have to rely on draws to beat some early aggro/heavy control decks (freeze mage).
Technically 10 is the better option for forbidden shaping, statwise. The average attack of a 10 cost minion is 9.6 points, and the average health is 10.3 points. The worst 10 drops are the kun, n'zoth, and c'thun. compare this to 8 drops where the average attack is 6.3, and the average hp is 7.25 this means the difference between 10 drops and 8 drops is a 3.3 difference in attack, and a 2.28 increase of hp. Because there are less 10 drops (10 standard vs 16 8 drops standard), there is a higher chance to get better cards, such as ultrasour, deathwing 1 and 2, behemoth (to some degree). Lesson learned (in standard at least) go for 10
The chance of getting a tirion is lower than the chance of say, getting deathwing, and the worst 8 drops are much worse that the worst 10 drops. Granted there still is the heropwer which offers flexiblity, but in the most technical sense 10 is the best (lul 9)
C'thun, N'zoth, Yogg and Kun are horrifically bad outcomes and that's nearly half of your possibilities. If you feel like gambling then go for 10s but you're going to have better outcomes on average by going for 8, consistency is more important than occasionally rolling extremely well.
Yeah, but as Damien points out there is more to it than stats. 8 has gromm, al'akir, ironbark, charged devilsaur, tirion, ragnaros and giant sand worm which are all better than just getting a bigger body in most instances. Then most of the bland outcomes are about as good practically speaking as the 10-drops, the difference between a 7/8 and 10/10 is rarely game defining. And for the three bad outcomes (which again is 3 out of 16 rather than 10) you get another chance at taunt, which can be very helpful, anomalous, which is an 8/6 and can occasionally even be a good outcome and a 5/4 turtle which looks unreasonably bad until you compare it to C'thun. So it's not like you're "wrong" for going with a different number but most people go for 8 for very good reasons, you're statistically more likely to get a better outcome in most conventional situations. That said, sometimes you will just want the best possible chance at a 12/12 and knowing when to go for that is a legitimate skill-testing aspect of the card. At the end of the day it's most important to know why you're playing it for a certain mana cost rather than just memorizing "the best" play and always doing that.
+apocalyplant I don't know if I'd play the deck without Elise and Free From Amber. I've tried a version that cuts Medivh for Harrison, and Geode for Golakka Crawler

Nicholas Curcuru I think you mean who draws Justicar first and gets lucky with rng.
And yet, it's probably something that would never be said in a control matchup that they were clearly losing and/or had no chance to come back...

4:40 'You will kneel' and 'Kneel' Two minions asking for an enemy to kneel, what are the chances.
Rlancs bigger than the average clown fiesta in hearthstone usually probably xD
Neither of whom I am all that inclined to "kneel" for...well- (contemplates Soggoth)
Them tentacles right?
MoonPriest 9 health, pretty thicc
+ Moonpriest I'd bend over for Soggoth.
Shaman- My powers have doubled since we last met Priest.
Priest- Good, twice the Lyra's, double the packs.
Count Dooku: "Good, Twice the Lyras, Double the Packs."
Underrated comment
6:05 I thought Kibler was saying : "i can troll the universe".
Clément SIRE He probably could, he is B.M Kibler
Me too, although I think whoever controls our universe is also trolling everyone in it XD

"....a reasonable reason" Brian Kibler 2017
"I can fly because turtles like water". An unreasonable reason. The statement is logical.

2 Lyra's. My powers have doubled since last time we met.
nice ref bro

I love being able to play a super grindy style of priest now. This is becoming one of my all-time favorite decks!
Congrats on 300k Kibler and Natalie!
+HiddenWen Thanks!
I enjoy your music choices for videos
horror doesn't kill pyromancer

quest rogue is pretty fun. not sure why people don't like it. It is not even good.

NostraKibler at it again.
I thought for a moment something fishy was going on when the music didn't start right away
I feel bad for that shaman, I play a similar deck and that was a one-sided beat down. Kibler had an answer for everything he threw out.
Double the fun!

This poor shaman , had to deal with so much shit this game
I heard Kibler went 0-3 in arena the other night lol
At my rank, there are only hunters, and I only have this deck and quest rouge, I hate playing quest rouge, so how can i win against hunters?
Make a better Hunter Deck ;)
Ábel Hodász you could make a hunter deck yourself, they're super cheap and if you don't run rat packs you could get away with running 0 epics or legendaries
you could use the 3/3 wolf that spawns spiders instead of a rat pack.
mulligan for your cheap minions/removal (cleric, potion, pain, etc.). Hunter is pretty easy to beat with this deck
Easy with control priest.
Fantastic
If you steal a Mana Wyrm using Potion of Madness, does it gain +1 from stealing it and/or any other spells you cast??
I.e. If you stole MW at 2 attack, and then cast another spell during your turn would it go to 3 attack and would it still be under your control?
Anyone have a decklist for the enemy?
i like when kibler said quest rogue is an aggro deck, its not aggro its just turn 6 OTK
Everybody hates quest rogue, but I find buffadin and Taunt Warrior to be more frustrating since there is almost no way you actually deal damage outside of freeze mage. but that's just a pile of stats, unlike 8 with tirion/ alikir
The chance of getting a tirion is lower than the chance of say, getting deathwing, and the worst 8 drops are much worse that the worst 10 drops. Granted there still is the heropwer which offers flexiblity, but in the most technical sense 10 is the best (lul 9)

I guess, but if you don't need to hero power on a turn, for instance, in arena, going for 10 has overall statwise best rewards
Yeah, but as Damien points out there is more to it than stats. 8 has gromm, al'akir, ironbark, charged devilsaur, tirion, ragnaros and giant sand worm which are all better than just getting a bigger body in most instances. I just finished a brawl where I ended up with 5 Lyra's. Insane.
brian kibbeling
Best deck ever !!!!
What is that add-on he's using?
1080p Kibler ? :(
what can you replace Medivh, Mana Geode, Elise and free from amber for?
+apocalyplant I don't know if I'd play the deck without Elise and Free From Amber. I've tried a version that cuts Medivh for Harrison, and Geode for Golakka Crawler
Tnks, I am no where near getting Medivh but I can disenchant for Elise
I'm struggling to find any success with this deck could you please make a guide video?
why aren't geode's and mana treant's elementals?
Tracker's name ?
Wait... Tolvir is turned on by the plume? What a pervy card...
What is omni?
I'd try that deck, but I don't have nearly enough dust or kharazan
Nobody noticed its Apxvoic? The use to be tempo mage god
last night as a rogue I played 5 lyras, 2 of them from swash burglars. I finished my quest with this :P
Nice to know you're playing quest rogue
+Nikita Yudin I tried it out. my favorite deck is elemental evolve shaman atm.
Just realized- why is Geode not an elemental?
Pimba
Who are the 52 people who disliked this idk what there is to dislike
show me the lyras kibbley
Hmm... Why is Mana Geode not classed as an elemental? =o
I don't know any of the lore but I'd always assumed it was more like an arcane construct the kabal produced than a naturally occurring thing.
I know it doesn't fit here, but I have to ask: What happens, when you Justicar "DIE, INSECT!" ?
"Replace your starting hero power with a better one". "Die, insect" isn't a starting hero power unfortunately =/
Kibler, how do yo feel being the oldest person on this video?
... he's also the youngest?
Silverhawk100 it's a reference to the charity run video he did
Fair enough. :-P
