Here is my finished in-game screenshot replica of Max Caulfield's diary from the game, Life is Strange. I screen capped my first playthrough, so it has all my choices throughout the game. Then edited all of the screenshots into spreads, organized them into signatures, and bound them all into a hardcover book handmade from scratch. The stickers are scans of the official limited edition artbook. I'm a huge fan of the game(s), and fairly obsessed with collecting & making objects from it!
The text font is called Dudu Calligraphy.

Since Double Exposure got revealed, I've had Max's diary on my mind a lot lately. I'm gonna spend some time screencapping & formatting the pages from the LIS1 Remaster and pretty much overhaul everything, eventually.

I'm planning on it! I also just ordered the Vinyl Edition today, and if the artbook that comes with it is a mini replica of Chloe's in-game diary, it'll help get the references for the front & back cover (since the only in-game screenshot is hard to make out in detail besides the Hawt Dawg Man sticker). But with my final year of college starting, I'm rather busy so I haven't formatted/edited the pages of Chloe's diary and letters yet.
OMG I am crying right now cause life is strange is my favorite game of all time and I really adore max's diary/jourmal and I am thinking to make one myself like a DIY one so yeah I came up to search "DIY life is strange max's journal" here on youtube and then I click this video and the first 5 seconds of this video I am about to cry....

They probably cant sell them cuz it's not their own original work. They would be making money off of something that technically doesnt belong to them.
Pretty much spot on, actually. A lot of companies are rather strict with their copyrights. Whereas some don't really mind when it's a "made to order" piece. Some, don't like it at all such as Bethesda from past articles I've read. For now, I'm holding off on selling any, but I'll gladly provide the documents free of charge for someone to print it themselves.
Hi I really want to make this. What did you use for the actual book it self? Like to hold all the pages together?
For the text block, the pages (put into signatures) were kettle stitched together and secured with acid-free adhesive. The hardcover is made from chipboard (I got mine from hobby lobby) and was covered with black canvas paper using spray on adhesive. Once the text block spine was good and dry, cardstock front and back pages (that were kettle stitched to the text block beforehand) was adhered to the hardcover, and kept inside a book press until everything was fully dried. The book press is to prevent the glue from bowing the hardcover.
I watched some of SeaLemon's videos here on UA-cam as my guide for the kettle stitching, and assembly.

I've got a working Sun 600 Polaroid Instant camera, and I ordered the film from Impossible Project, made the butterfly out of paper, and set things up with a metal bucket and tiled floor, and took some shots with legit 600 film. It took a lot of trial and error with the lights (Max was right, film is expensive as hell!). At $22 dollars for just 8 shots per cartridge. I kept the best one for my collection, but gave the rest away at anime/cosplay conventions!

I've been thinking about doing some upgrading & editing to the Max diary files, actually. Gonna add in some pages like the characters page and some other things I left out first time around.
Chloe's journal is still on my to do list. Just need to do a new playthrough since I traded in my PS4 towards a PS4 Pro, and haven't redownloaded it on steam yet. And I might try and do a tutorial video rather than just a show & tell.

1. What did you used for the hardcover? It's only a black paper on board or something else?
2. How did you make this pages? In game they are covered by interface and other things (at example - nightmare page In your diary is bigger than page In game). You edited it?

I went by Sea Lemon's tutorials on learning out to kettle stitch, make the text block, and hard cover.

The hard cover I made is made of chipboard & black canvas-like paper. I picked up both at Hobby Lobby, so any art supply or office store should have everything.
As for the pages, I screencapped them, edited & photoshopped each page to get rid of the navigation/interface at the top. Cropped & moved things inward such as paragraphs and some images so they wouldn't be so close to the margins. I took some liberties in editing the Nightmare page so it would fit, redrew a couple places in photoshop, and slightly compressed it to fit into my template. Then arranged them into eight signatures of 5 pages each (printed on front and back) so they will be in the right order when printed. I got them laser printed onto regular paper since that's what I could afford at the time.
Thanks for answer. Your screenshots was in 1920x1080 resoluton? I want to make my own copy but with my choices and in Polish language but I have only PC and I want the best quality on my screenshots.

When it comes to resizing, 300dpi scales things up size wise, but the print quality will be better. And yes, the screenshots were 1920 x 1080, but give the dimensions it would looks more square when bound into a book just using those dimensions, so I had to edit/scale it to be more similar to a composition notebook (and more accurate to the game). Getting the right pages to be organized into the signatures gets a little confusing, but a quick paper mock up and writing (Page 1 left/Page 5 right) helped me, personally.

Yep! I'm planning on it! Just waiting for Episodes 2 & 3 to come out. I haven't gotten around to editing the pages in the game from Episode 1 yet due to the semester starting last week, being busy with schoolwork and all. But Chloe's diary is in a spiral notebook, so I'm looking around into making my own spiral notebook in the meantime.

Bound them together into a text block, then finally made the hardcover. It's bit of a process binding a book from scratch, but there's plenty of tutorials floating around that I used as my guides.

What conventions do you go to, to give these to cosplayers? The ones that I usually go to are mostly C2E2 and Anime Midwest, which are in Chicago. I wish I knew how to make this on my own (you should make a tutorial video). What can I do to get a copy of Max's diary from you?
I'm limited to southeastern conventions due to monetary and crappy vehicle reasons, unfortunately. I do plan on going to MomoCon and AWA this year though! I'm giving out replica butterfly photos though since I'm crafting my own instead of using Polaroid 600 film (because that stuff if expensive!). But SeaLemon here on UA-cam is who I watched to learn bookbinding. The formatting of the pages, I had to figure out on my own, but everything in the link in the description is already formatted. Unfortunately, I'm not taking on commissions for any diaries since I'm busy with a full (Overwatch) cosplay and college endeavors. Sorry.

With the remasters coming in 2022, I want to make a new/updated one with more pages and adjustments.
How did you get the book printed on that kind of paper? Is there a site I can use?
Both my first and second (the one in the video) are printed on regular copy paper since it was in my budget. Ideally, I wanted to print on a thicker paper like Mohawk but it would have costed upwards over $100 dollars, so that was out of the question. Places like OfficeMax and Staples are decent, but I live close to a local print shop in my town and they were much more patient with me than Staples.
