Must have been an unseasonably warm December day, given that some cars had their windows open. Woodside is such an amazing station because not only does it have great skyline views and both subway and commuter trains, but planes fly right overhead when runway 4 is active at LGA. Great shots of now-defunct NWA and Delta in its old livery
Definitely brings up memories to look at these videos and see just how much the IRT Flushing Line has changed. This was in the same month that the first R62As began to be transferred over from Westchester Yard to Corona Yard.
I was born the next day, Tuesday the 18th. I've always wanted to see a Redbird, but never could. Now if they run the Train of Many Colors again next year or in '22, I'll try to catch it.
I miss the redbird on the 7 line. Bring back memories when we go to flushing and Shea stadium. I grew up riding the redbird plus Flickr lights and clear announcement.
Man, how I loved those R33 World's Fair Redbirds. They were the epitome of the MTA New York City Subway System's Interborough Rapid Transit (IRT) division.
Man if I wasn't raised poor in the shady suburbs of Berlin I would have gotten myself a good quality camera back in these days to film the heck out of these old trains. The only thing about my life I would change if I could. Dang!
Wow, this is almost twenty years ago. It's weird to look that far back and see that nothing, aside from the redbirds no longer running, has substantially changed.
Awesome video! Its crazy to see the normal cars and vehicles from when I was young and now they are all prius hybrids are other junks like that I miss the old days...!
Please have more redbird train videos on the 7 train. I missed those days. I went to school riding the 7 train. I was born and raised in Queens. Now, I live in Richmond, Virginia for the last 17 years. Times have been flying for sure.
Hey - if you want to ride these trains it will run as this year's holiday train on the weekends in December (1.2.3 line). Ride em all day long at high speed. Stay at my place Kyat.
@@trainluvr Hey! Thank you so much! I have no time to travel to the US at the moment unfortunately! If you come to germany in march just write me a message. You might could take a cab ride on the S-Bahn in Frankfurt if you'd like to!

Good news, the Train of Many Colors will run as the 2022 Holiday Train in December (1,2,3 line).
Nostalgia at its finest
@@keeganpolar5095 me too! Honestly i prefer the reds instead of these new ones

So awkward when the plane was shown and it said the year on the bottom
Wonderful stuff. I miss the redbirds. Thanks for sharing
Damn nice man love seeing old fottage from my year just wish I was there to expirence it a safe older person at that time
Way better than some NTTs I miss these days dearly
The switches near Woodside before moved to either end of 74 street.
S Dev The old “Fisk Interlocking”.
That configuration made more sense than the current one.
I came at 0:51.

Anybody have videos of the r142 first day of passenger service?
Hey do you have any footage of the r30 redbirds?
3:07 Man, when the train speakers actually worked.
What were you filming with back then? You have a very specific look that captures the third rail arcing in a unique fashion \m/
3 months after 9/11
Good old days.
i remember then.
I was born in 2002 and i never got to ride the redbirds
The Redbirds were nice. The closest thing today is the R32. Soon they will be phased out too. Maybe by next year or the year after.
i read that it was in 2022
@@francisrodriguez2510 Maybe so. That gives us a few more years to enjoy them.
R32s just retired late 2020
After 9/11
