Norwegian Getaway Haven Spa Suite Cabin 14136 Tour

- Here's a full tour of one of the Haven Spa Suites on the new Norwegian Getaway cruise ship. There are 16 of these Haven Spa Suite cabins on the ship. This particular one is stateroom # 14136.
The cabin features a Jacuzzi bath tub in the room, as well as a wonderfully comfortable bed... and it's one bed, not two twins pushed together to make one big bed... so there's no bump or crevice in the middle.
The cabin has a balcony with two outdoor chairs. There is a large HD television as well as a DVD player. When you stay in this cabin, you get full access to The Haven and all the amenities that come with it... as well as full access to the spa, including the fantastic thermal suite, which was one of my favorite places on the ship.
The Norwegian Getaway is one of the largest cruise ships in the world, and is currently the newest and most sophisticated in the NCL fleet. It offers 7-day cruises out of the port of Miami, Florida.
Great job with the review. NCL should hire you to give cabin video tours of all their cabins.
Great tour! They need to hire you to do all of their room tours!
Thanks to your videos, I booked cabin 14136 on the Getaway and am leaving on Wednesday. Your tours are inspiring, detailed, and helpful. Thank you.
You're going to LOVE it!
@@JimZim Can’t wait! We were on the breakaway in August and I know they’re similar ships! Any specific tips you have?
I've actually cruised on the Getaway twice... once in 2014 and once again in 2018.
While there aren't any specific tips I can offer, you might find a few interesting details about the ship and my experiences on her at these two pages on my web site:

and

I'm going to be in the spa suite on the ncl escape Miami maiden voyage so this was very helpful to know what to expect thank you.
Jim, your videos are some of the best out there! Thanks for a great job. Just returned from the Escape in a 2Bedroom family villa in The Haven. AWESOME!
Great review. I didn't stay in a Haven suite when I last went on my cruise but after your review I definitely might have to book it for next time.
You have a great voice for this
Our very first cruise was for our 1st anniversary in 1998. It was The Norwegian Star out of Texas. (Houston) the cruise industry was testing Texas. The cruise was terrible. Old ship that rocked back and forth. I am very nervous about sailing Norwegian now because of this experience. I have done RC and they are my favorite so far. Norwegian looks so much better now. We work hard, live thrifty and save. I don't want to make any bad choices on picking a cruise line.
I know exactly what you mean! I cruised on Norwegian Star back in those days, too... and it was the worst cruise we had been on up until just recently when we actually went on one I disliked even more (on a totally different cruise line). You can trust me on this one... the current Norwegian ships are hugely improved over the Norwegian Star, and the staff is way more competent these days than they were back then. Out of all the cruise lines I've been on, I like Norwegian the best now, which is ironic since Norwegian Star was so bad back then in those days.
Nicely done tour. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
Great tour! NCL should bring you onboard to do all their publicity!
I like all your VDO footage. It's good, smooth taken and nice voices explanation. Please keep shooting a good work.
i love how u showcased the doorbell lol
I've watched this many times. We are staying in this room in October. I'm sure you don't mind silly questions :) Do you think it is worth having the spa pass when you also are a Haven guest? We've considered upgrading but would lose the spa (unless we purchase it). And, it appears there are no chairs in the room for dining. I saw a daybed and a tiny table. I'm trying to imagine the butler serving dinner there(even breakfast). Thank you for your reviews!
If I understand correctly, you're saying that you've got this Haven Spa Suite booked for a cruise in October, but you're thinking of upgrading to some other Haven cabin so that you'd have a table in the room, in order to have dinner served there. I'm not so sure it would be all that necessary to buy a spa pass in that situation... because there is a Jacuzzi in the Haven Courtyard, which would be very nearby your cabin. (Unless you booked one of the Haven cabins at the rear of the ship.) I guess you'd have to give some thought to how much you really like the idea of having a private Jacuzzi inside your room, where you wouldn't necessarily have to wear a swim suit, and where you would never have to share it with anyone else. Of course, there's more to the Thermal Suite in the spa than just one Jacuzzi. Perhaps you should take a tour of the thermal suite in the spa on the first day of the cruise and decide for yourself whether it would be worth the cost of a spa pass... or whether using the Jacuzzi in the Haven Courtyard would be enough.
One important item. Depending on the direction of the ship port or starboard. What side of the ship do you want to be on? Sun in the morning when its cooler, then shade in the evening when its warmer. really, need to think about which side of the ship you want your deck to be on??
i love your videos. i was never sure about cruise ships but now i think i can consider going on one .
Is this room in the Haven area or outside of it? I know its a Haven room but wasn't sure if its inside the Haven proper.
You don't always get a great view, my cruise on the Norwegian breakaway had a view of 30ft waves!
Perfect! I have that very cabin, in 2 months. :)
Incredible review!
this was a great review
I like your tour guide videos
Thank you for the tour. it was very helpful :)
Professional review
Loved your video!
great review!
VERY NICE VIDEO NCL IS THE BEST
Hi, how would you rate your trip from 1 to 10? 10 being the best and 1 being the worst.
Louis David That was definitely a "10". My favorite cruise out of all the ones I've been on. I can't wait to stay in the Haven again next year... this time on the even newer Norwegian ship, the Norwegian Escape.
A very enjoyable listen. You have a great voice!
Sorry, but I have another question (I posted one on your pre-trip video). Do all Haven Suites have access to the Spa, or only the Haven Spa Suites? Thanks!
Michele Desoer I have often wondered that myself. I am not 100% sure on that. I think a call to NCL would be in order. My guess is that only the spa suite passengers get free access to the spa and that other Haven guests would have to pay extra for it... but I'm not sure about that.
Jim Zimmerlin Thanks; I'll have to call on Monday.
Michele Desoer Only the spa suites regardless of their being Haven or not have included spa use. You can however purchase spa access no matter where your staying, but you had better do that quick since space is limited and they do sell out. If you really are intent on using the spa I definitely recommend the spa suites.
Chrisell we actually upgraded to the Haven, but not the Spa Suite. I didn't know how much I would use it. The room was amazing. I'm not sure that I could ever cruise again outside of The Haven. It was Spring Break and nuts on the rest of the ship. It really was a "haven" from the chaos. Very much a 5-star experience.
Michele Desoer I can't wait until the Escape gets here, it's supposed to be even nicer than the Getaway. Totally agree about the Haven.
You have a lovely voice, thanks for the video!
About how much does a haven spa suite cost for a 7 day cruise?
You'd really need to figure that out yourself by going to the NCL web site and doing a "mock booking" for the ship you want and the sail date you want. A mock booking is where you basically go through all the steps of booking a cruise, up to the point of where you've picked out a specific cabin and it tells you the exact price... but before the point of giving the web site and personal information such as your name or credit card information.
The reason I can't just tell you that a Haven Spa Suite costs $xxx is because it will vary depending on which ship you choose, and what date you sail. Prices go way up for certain times of the year, and way down for others. Some people (for example, teachers) pretty much have to sail only during holidays or summer breaks... and they'll be looking at some of the highest prices of the year. Other people can be more flexible with their cruise dates, and can take advantage of lower prices at other times of the year.
By doing several mock bookings at different times of the year, you can start to get a good idea of what the prices will really be at different times of the year.
Hi Jim need your opinion on a good cruise ship going to Cuba. What would you recommend?
If you're really interested in visiting a LOT of Cuba, not just making a quick stop, and if you have a fairly large budget for the cruise, you should look at what Viking Ocean Cruises offers. They are doing some Cuba cruises that really spend a lot of time in Cuba and which visit a lot more than just Havana. Also, they sure do treat their passengers right. I really enjoyed my Viking cruise. But a cruise with Viking Ocean Cruises is not a cheap cruise.
If you're just looking for an inexpensive, quick trip to Havana... there are two options that I'd suggest you look at. The first would be if you are interested in a booze cruise. In that case, check out the Norwegian Sky. They have an open bar for all passengers. Every drink is free, all the time. You don't even have to show a key card at the bar. Just order a drink, and they hand it to you. That's kind of a fun way to cruise, if you like to drink. But it's an older ship without a lot of bells and whistles.
If a booze cruise is not what you're looking for, check out what Carnival is offering in Cuba cruises. At least that way you'd get some good comedy, some decent shows, and Guy Fieri burgers out of the deal. They even have a couple of mid-size ships going to Cuba, like the Carnival Sunshine.
Jim, thank you for giving me more choices than I could have thought of.
My last cruise was on Princes Safire of the Sea. We like the size and how well we were treated.
Those cruise companies don't make it easy with all those choices. They build those Mega ships and you need a tour guide just for the ship. Any volunteers? HAHA
So thanks again love your videos, who knows maybe we'll see you on the next cruise.
That was very usefull!
So if I understand correctly you have a free, unlimited access to the spa if you order a Heaven Spa Suite?
That is correct.
so are there 2 bedrooms
I don't really understand why you would ask that, if you watched the video. While they call this a "suite", they only use that word to indicate that it is a premium cabin, not just a run-of-the-mill cabin. It is designed for two people only. There isn't really a "bedroom" as such... it's more like a studio apartment. There certainly aren't two bedrooms. The curtain is quite visible in the video, about two and a half minutes in to it. The curtain separates the closet/bathroom/entry area from the main portion of the room. For example, it is useful if you are going to be using the Jacuzzi tub and you are worried that the cabin steward might enter the room while you are in the tub. If you are looking for a room that can accommodate more than two people, this isn't the room for you. There are 2-bedroom suites in The Haven that would be much better for that.
Was it noisy with Deck 15 above you?
Sarah McKay We were in a Haven Spa Suite... cabin 14136. Directly above us were other Haven cabins on deck 15. So, no... there really wasn't any noise coming from the cabins above (or below) us.
Sarah McKay The Haven Spa Suites on the starboard side of the ship might not be as quiet. We were on the port side of the ship, with cabins above us. In some of the Haven Spa Suites on the starboard side of the ship you would be underneath the gym. That might not be a good thing.
Also, if you're not in a Haven Spa Suite but you're in a non-Haven cabin on deck 14... I could see how there might be some problems with noise coming from above. Except for the Haven cabins, deck 14 is probably at risk of having some problems with noise coming from above. If possible, consider another deck when choosing a cabin.
Thanks so much, Jim.
Are the Haven suites adult only?
No, all ages are welcome in The Haven. The even have two-bedroom Haven suites that are perfect for an adult couple and a kid or two. And, of course, the 3-bedroom Haven Courtyard suites are the absolute top-of-the-line accommodations for a larger family.
Typically the Haven Spa Suite, which is what is shown in this video, is for a romantic couple not travelling with children... but other Haven suites will have children in them and you will occasionally see children in The Haven Courtyard and in The Haven Restaurant.
In one of my Haven cruises, there was one day where a kid was being a little too vocal while playing in the pool in The Haven Courtyard, but that was the only time a kid ever disturbed me in The Haven. Most of the time, kids are really not that interested in being in The Haven's public areas and they are more interested in spending time in the kids areas within the ship.

I WONDER HOW MUCH DO THIS CRUISE COST WITH THE DRINK (ALCOHOL PACKAGE) WITH THIS SUIT? 🤔
It's going to depend on the week, because prices vary widely by the time of the year. Certain times of the year are more expensive than others. As a general rule, at the cheapest times of the year to cruise, you're looking at about $5000 per couple for a 7-day Caribbean cruise in a Haven Spa Suite. But if you want to see what it goes for at the exact time of year you might want to cruise, just go to NCL.com and do a mock booking. That's where you find the ship you want and the date you want and you start to book the cruise... but only to the point of seeing the actual price. You don't have to give them any personal information or credit card number or anything. That's the easy way to see the real prices, and to compare the prices of different types of room and different times of the year. But for a Haven Spa Suite, as shown in this video, you're talking at least $5000 total for two people. In other words, not $5000 per person! And that would include the beverage package and several other really great perks.
i stayed in cabin 14224
That Italian Guy Is that an aft balcony? We were in 14876.
Chrisell no Mid ship balcony
That Italian Guy The Getaway was the best cruise I've been on to date. Great cabins.
