I really really want to thank you for the smiles. Since my wife died I've been pretty down, but your sense of humor has made me smile and made me want to get back into working on my project Impala. Thank you again
Derek and Jessica, (though we see her far too seldom), have a knack for making me feel a whole lot better too. I can't imagine a guy more opposite to myself as far as politics and background, and yet I know that if we couldn't get along in real life it would be 100 percent my fault. Good will, humour, the importance of family and friends, the responsibility of a father and a husband, and a sense of how a man should relate to the world and his neighbours are the real themes of this show, messing around with busted-ass cars is just the language he talks about the important things with, and a chance to pass on knowledge that with out men like him, we lose every day. Most of youtube is downright toxic garbage, some of it is useful or funny, and a vanishingly small percentage is a reminder and an inspiration for all of us that we could be better, the world could be better, and it aint all that hard. This show is solidly in that group on the side of the angels, and I am grateful for it. And Derek, if this made you squirm, just pretend you didn't see this and move on, just like when you look over a new car, these things can lay quiet... and don't change a thing.
That must be really hard. I've been having a hard time with a long relationship that ended in a toxic way. I couldnt imagine getting married and having my wife die. It's like losing a peice of you. But when you hit rock bottom, you can only go up! Stay happy, surround yourself with good people, and always look for the good in everything. Solder on brother 🤘🏻

As we, your subscribers, very much enjoy your personal shtick throughout your videos we are aware of the underlying automotive teaching that is going on, and that is a good thing. I wonder, though, if you are aware of the family dynamics lessons you are teaching as you involve Jessica and the boys in the episodes. Your love and respect for them and their love and respect for you in your interactions shines through the silliness, and that is a VERY good thing. Thank you for keeping your channel family friendly. You have a gift for imparting knowledge to students who didn't even know they had come to be schooled.

My son ( 16 this year ) told me to check this guy out. I am just going through the back log and yes I agree. Good family values, a guy actually learns things ( been a mechanic since 98) and it's just fun to watch a guy speak another's guys mouth sounds whilst doing the same stuff the original guy does fer a living. 😏
It only took 2 episodes for a guy to fall in love with your channel a few weeks ago. You deserve every subscriber and probably more. It's nice to learn automotive things in a fun environment

Derek, Jessica is so blessed to have you around when you start talking I see her face light up. As if she says "Oh No Here He Goes Again" It is a new language called Derekes so we understand a lot more as time goes on.
My Dad had a 70 LeSabre. He got a promotion and it was the first car he had that had air conditioning. His unit had a 455 mill and was like a sea foam green exterior with a dark green interior. He traveled a lot with his job and keep her as his travel car until 76 when he bought a new Ford LTD Landua. He said it was one of the best cars he ever had as far as dependability. He drove it home in just over 3 hours from Danville, VA to Johnson City, TN the day I was born!! Got pulled over twice by the North Carolina highway patrol. When he told the 2nd trooper what his hurry was he radioed ahead and more or less gave clearance for his 100 mph travel pattern!! Dad is unfortunately passed away, but I'd say he would love your videos!! I certainly do!! 😎 👍👌

OMG what a cool channel. Reminds me when we were flying low in my Dad's 1972 Buick Riviera with my sisters crying in the back seat. Doubt any of us were actually belted in. Our duty was to shout at him when he nodded off on our trips home from Vermont to Mass. late Sunday nights....... Good times.

"Arm out the guy window". 😆 Awesome. Thank you Derek and Jessica. I hope I've spelled your names correctly. Best wishes to you and all ❤️ Stay safe everyone ✌️😎
It's so amazing to see this car. Every angle you show reminds me of how it looked when the lead in the paint still glistened, even in low light. ;) My parents traded ours in for a 1980 LeSabre. The first car my dad ever bought off the lot. The rear deck and dash disintegrated into a fuzzy orange powder by then and the car was garaged its entire existence. Seeing an intact dash is pretty fkn cool, frankly. I always loved the steering wheel of that car. And the ashtray

Good times.
I would personally like to see the Buick brought back to it's original glory as it's already in such good shape
wonderful having Jessica star in this video! please ask her to be in more youtube projects!
Love seeing your helper, you are a lucky man.
reminds me of my 75 Olds 95 a little. Very boat like. Drives like a couch.
Giving me some inspiration to start tearing into that and restoring it finally.
When you get a chance along the way, a stronger closer microphone for your wife would be really good. Love your videos so much.
Yea you've gotta get a gal mic'd up. A guy can rase his voice just fine tho.
Her “hyiatss” was adorable.
I laughed outloud. Was perfect. Did u catch how she said "clean on the glass." Just like her hubby says it.
@@waden404 I did catch that. Love it.
"Arm out the guy window". 😆
Awesome. Thank you Derek and Jessica. I hope I've spelled your names correctly.
Best wishes to you and all ❤️
Stay safe everyone ✌️😎
My dad isn't into UA-cam, but I showed him your videos, and he loves watching them. Thank you.
"Give it a 'hee-yat...tsssss'!" Love it!
just makes a guy want to go into a hardmore store and holler: "number 10 wire!" and walk away...perfect. 😂
Lmao
It's 11:47pm here in Northern Ireland. I should be asleep, but..... 😁
I bet this is funny as hell in Ireland! Or not.
Love those old GM cars. My parents had a 1969 LeSabre. Dad bought it new when I was 10 years old. First new car he ever owned.
I'd love to see the vinyl top on this one. Would go great with the wheels and interior
When you do the radiator you might as well go the heater core there on the same principal might be just the hoses . I really like your show .Thanks
"What is that?.... A Turbo?" LOL. big smile.
My family had a 68 Le Sabre almost identical to this one. The color is called "Tarpon Green" even though it looks mostly silver.
It's so amazing to see this car.
Every angle you show reminds me of how it looked when the lead in the paint still glistened, even in low light. ;)
My parents traded ours in for a 1980 LeSabre.
"I'm gonna crank 'er up ta
lucif'r~mode...." lol !!
14:52 " arm out the guy window" happens to the best of us lol
I’m with Anthony! What a great Sunday afternoon video to entertain, AND kids can safely watch. We love you !! Your funny and smart too. Find myself rewinding to hear your little acronyms.
I’m really hoping that you put a new black vinyl top on the Buick. It would look super sharp!
"It's a weird fibrous, it's almost like someone dropped a stick or something in to the fuel tank. Don't ask me how I know."
Well now I need to hear this story. Come on Derek, don't leave us hanging :)
Yeah Derek, what did you do?
Ya. We want the stick story.
Did the fuel gauge work?
Sounds like a good cold snack story Derek
He used a stick to put fuel in with a gas can and it broke.. I'd assume
“Must’ve not been an arm out the guy window” had to pause and go back to make sure I heard that correctly 😂
Really enjoy all your revivals! So fun to watch you guys, you’re so talented. Also enjoy all the humor and how you explain the process of these projects. I appreciate you keeping your channel clean with your language Derrick… thank you…
