The last time I used a real Lexicon 480 was around 1990 and I just ❤ the Relab essentials version which i recently purchased. Thanks fpr posting this. New subscriber. 👍
I thought the LX480 essentials was a 4-preset version of the RX480 complete - BUT with the same quality. Damn, it sounds nothing like the complete... thin, sparky highs. No thanks. Thanks for your time doing this.
Same man, I was under the impression that the sound was the same only with less controls. The essential sounds fake and cheap compared to the complete.
The tone of the LX480 Essential in the mix is de most warm and realistic, I own UAD Plugins, but in this case with headphones, the essentials was the best for me
Great comparison. I prefer the Relab LX480. Closest to my Lexicon 300 and PCM-91. But there is one issue that I miss on all those plugins. The early reflections don't offer this - I would say "3D feeling" - compared to the hardware. Sometimes I combine the early reflections from Exponential Audio Reverb with the reverbs of LX480 or Valhalla to get more 3D feeling. But it's a lot of tweeking work. Easier to use the hardware. But finally I must say the plugins became better and better over the years.
I like the relab also, but dig the UAD version so I can set it up in my headphone mix with 0 latency, artists LOVE to hear the reverb during recording.
The early reflections don't offer this - I would say "3D feeling" - compared to the hardware." - I own a 480L and the LX480. They sound the same. What is this '3D feeling' you're talking about? The hardware transmits feelings, they are supernatural? Never heard of this.
@@Beethovan @Beethovan I've not tested the UAD 480. Regarding any differences between the LX480 and the hardware: anything noticeable is likely due to interface audio alignment differences, which will affect the tone of the reverb/effects (ie, a 'predelay' of 1 ms will sound noticeably different than even 2 ms, and so on).
Hi I think the comparison would have been better if there were no plugins other than the reverb on the channel. One think I listen to when I hear a plug is how much does it sound like a plug in.
I much prefer the Relab over the UAD. I'm on the phone so I hear more mids and highs and the Relab sounds warmer and less harsh. I know it's kinda stupid listening on a phone for this but I don't think my mind will change if I was listening on my monitors. Plus my phone has pretty good high mids so.
The test is not good enough.. because reverb translate on impulse and respond differently. You should test a clap, snare , hh, kick, additionally. Then check the same reverb switched to mono.
@@audiofreq You know - I IMMEDIATELY heard the same noticeable difference in the sound from the UAD plug-in (I listened specifically on the AVANTON mono monitor). He might sound a bit "harder" - but he didn't have any "Soap/Plastic" on the vocals. And when you turned it on in a place with music, the music came to the fore more. The reverberation from UAD did NOT interfere with the music and did not "smear" the music (putting a plastic bag on your head). All other plug-ins did not give this sound. I know that for Reverberate 3 you can find very high quality impulses from 480 - and they will sound the same as UAD (I have already heard this). But if you had a Promotion, then you made the right choice (according to your Taste and Rumor). I have a Metric Halo ULN-8 3D interface + VOVOX "Sonorus direct S" series mastering cables - and I hear very high quality sound thanks to these cables (they are Phenomenal! If you try them - you literally DON'T recognize your monitors! And if you put this cable to a microphone / or any instrument - you will immediately hear that you have bought a New high-end microphone / or an Expensive guitar. I don't have a UAD card - so I'll buy a Reverberate (which can load all existing impulses) Good luck.

loved the vocals ...
finally. proper lexicon in my daw (reason 10) to brighten my nights.
Just bought LX480 after some comparisons on my Logic mixes. It's my favorite rev plugin now. Your video was helpful also. Cheers!

@@audiofreq Zero latency on UAD, or is that virtual zero? I thought the best they can do is ~2.5 ms round trip.

Relab all day!
all day err day!

I like your opening music for your video.
great comparison! i think they all sound great in the mix! you got a link for the free IR?

The relab sounds great! You can’t go wrong with either.
Thanks for the video. Who is the singer? I could not help listening to her voice instead of comparing reverbs ))
Hey thanks for watching, her name and song info are in the credits list in the description :). Make sure to like and subscribe bro, thanks.
@@audiofreq Found her - Thanks!
Been using LX480 for nearly 10 years since it was just the random hall algorithm.
Relab is definitely the best.
Do you have thoughts after the newest Relab update?
i havent tried the update yet, but i will, thank you for suggestion

my ears must’ve gotten worse or something cause i just can’t hear a single difference between those lexicon emulations
With the music uad wins! the Acappla part goes to relab.
I agree. I went with the UAD due to using it with no latency while recording. And it sounds fantastic in my honest opinion!
I got a relab version but tha's not the same interface
Relab Complete won
Where is the Native Instruments one? Is the best... ;-)
Oh nice, i'll give it a try sometime! Thanks for the suggestion
It's not imo. NI???
Valhalla or..., but not NI.
NI knows sampler plugins, but not reverbs
@@najinelson6742 Softube made them for NI. And they have awezome revers in tsar and wasted space, and the ones in their amp room aswell.
😀 Essa brasileira canta muito que voz Linda😲🟢🟡🔰
How the HELL is this channel so criminally unsubbed???
It's uad for me
I ended up buying the UAD lexicon on sale. Great reverb!
I will do the same
I will do the same too! Lol just scanning comments for validation lmao
Black Friday sale baby!
