- My 2008 Honda Civic Si was falling apart and deteriorating day by day. The Honda Civic was suffering from dents, dings, scratches, rust, and worst of all, PEELING CLEAR COAT. So... I decided to paint the car and dully restore the exterior!
These mid 2000's Honda Civics are known for having clear coat issues and mine was no exception. I bought this car with the intentions of vinyl wrapping it, but one thing lead to another and then I ended up fully restoring the little k20 powered 4 cylinder sports car. This turned out beautiful, congrats! I especially love how the rear bumper lip entirely transforms the look of the car, looks great with the polished exhaust tip!

So proud of John for this. Just shows a car with good bones and interior and not the best paint is still a great car, and body work is easier then interior.

I also have a 2008 Si, and last year when someone dinged my passenger door, I got the whole car re-painted by a so called 'professional' shop (Car-Star... I think they suck), and all dents and scuffs cleaned up... Although it looks MILES better than what it was, I have to say... Honestly, I think yours looks better! Awesome job man!!!

Im planing to the same to my 07 fg2 k24 swapped fun haver this summer. The fuji blue has the typical clear coming off and even spots of paint came off and is now just gray primmer. Saprizingly the car has no rust. Only a few stone chips on the hood have tiny rust spots. Keep up the great work gu!!

Yepp my 07 Coupe looks almost like your Before picture with a few typical rusty spots in rear and down on the front drivers side under the SI trim. But that will change for next year, its all about reliability for daily driving right now
Came out good bro , I personally like this gen and the hatch ep5 I think it called but yeah bro looks clean n fun ... peace and love brotha keep it rad stay safe and build on... ps if any u body work cracks try bondoglass next time n just skim coat after to make smooth/blend n the fibers in it allow flex for cold n hot expansion and contraction but yeah brotha its come along great just dont add it to the blown motor club 😂jk ... much love and respect bro l8z

Glaze putty would of been better for the scratches and light dents make sure to use bumper plastic adhesive so the paint can stick 320 grit is the lowest grit you needs for peeling clear coat

Did you wet sand it yet? That'll make a huge difference and you can get rid of all the orange peel!

If you didnt use any adhesion promoter on the plastic bumpers it will eventually crack and come off.
