AFTER ALL OF THE SEARCHING I DONE TO FIND OUT HOW TO RESOLVE MY BIOS PASSWORD ISSUE I FINALY RAN ACROSS YOUR VIDEO. THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE DEAD ON AND ON POINT CLEARED OLD PSSWRD OUT. THANK YOU TO THE UPLOADER. ITS THE SAME PROCEDURE FOR THE OPTIPLEX 790 WICH I HAPPEN TO OWN.

Not quite where mine was but it did help. on mine the jumpers were not really by where it said remove password on the board. Pins are right below the CPU fan. Went easy once located.

Thanks for the info. The Dell web page is kind of clucky on this procedure. Just a side note, if you reset ALL of the BIOS by removing the battery or loading defaults and not just the password as shown the computer likely will not boot with the DEFAULT settings in SATA OPERATIONS. In the vintage shown the desired normal setting is LEGACY I believe, in the older Dell BIOS it is something other than RAID I think.

Thank you my friend for this information I got this computer from an auction Dell Optiplex 990 did not know the bios passord was set to disable the DVD drive could not install the operating system I have workied on computers since the days of commodore 64 Windows 95 98 up till windows 10 I even worked at dell computers but still did not know that. I removed the jumper on optiplex 790 series, restarted but indicated JUMPER REMOVED TO BYPASS PASSWORD BUT PASSWORD CANNOT BE CHANGED. What else should i do?

Any idea why my mouse wouldn't work with the BIOS on Optiplex 760 with BIOS A15?? mouse works fine any other time, but it won't work within BIOS. The keyboard works fine as far as scrolling through the BIOS menu, but I am unable to make any changes to it. I removed the PSWD jumper so there is no password issue

Hi,Ordinternet.
The Optiplex3010 is BLACK jumper(with "PSWDCLR1" letter)
Short "1-2" and power on.
After confirming the alert display, turn off the power and return the jumper to "2-3".

Yes, look for the blue jumper. Removing the hard drive out of the way of the board should do the trick nicely.
