- Starting a 2276cc air-cooled VW beetle in the morning during winter is definitely not the easiest (or fastest) process ever... 😂🤷♀️ But she eventually fired up and made it to the last Pomona Swap Meet 2023! It was a great show and I was grateful to not only make it there in the Dust Buggy, but also make it home safely after a full day of fun. I also replaced the fuel gauge I had just put in because I didn't like the one I had installed previously and it didn't work as intended anyways. I had a lot of fun making this video, working on the bug isn't as intimidating if you take things one step at a time and tackle the little stuff first to get more confident overall 😉
Does anybody else meed some baja bug inspiration as much as i do??? Get it HERE!! 🎉 ua-cam.com/video/k5N68BqPOLo/v-deo.html
👏👏👏👍👍💯💯💯
I have inspiration with 1991 Miata previously sitting for 10 years.
5:30 nice instruments
Good to see you out working on the Buggy. Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to you as well!
The Dust Buggy sounds awesome✌️
Can't believe you took the dust buggy to the swap meet. That's cool/right on 👍🏻
You are amazingly talented Dust Buggy Girl . Well done.
I smiled the whole video. So great to see you working on Dust buggy. If you ever get a real crimp tool you will never look back. The new ones are even color coded. Stupid simple and work great.
Congratulations on everything 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤
Nice.. Hope you make more cold starts vids. Have a nice day.
Hail Mary full of Grace 🙏
A big thank u for being you
Your a goofball 😊
Nice Work!
Awesome vid; my wife loved it. Pot that fuel pump on a rubber block from and old cut off piece of rubber tire; making sure you run two, not one grounds to each of the mounting holes on the pump to the body of the Dust Buggy. It will quieten that pump noise.
OMG soo cool ❤
Always enjoy me some Dust Buggy content!!!!
She sounds AWESOME!!
Awesome
Nice job, Ash. 😊
Great to see you out ripping. My fuel gauge is a liar it keeps things exciting though.
I'd enjoy trying to start this.
It's a lot more fun when the starter isn't being a butt 😂
awww cool - shame you're in another country to me
Good deal on getting your gas gauge working! Cool car show, and the dust buggy is looking good! Happy holidays.
Nice work, it is good to have a fuel gauge!
Nothin better then being able to read the vitals! lol......glad to see you found a preferred fuel gauge at the swap meet....back when i had my '67 Baja, i never had a fuel gauge, i had a 26 gal. alum. fuel tank that took up the entire back seat area and a spare gas can just in case.
Awesome! 😃
Cold, try a Chicago winter. 😊
What happen you cut the video😢????
where did you get that Tach from I want one
That electric fuel pump is ridiculously loud!
Yeah she is 😅 makes it that much easier to diagnose when it goes out! 😂
I need a vw title
Weber makes books on tuning your duel setup. Utube resource is eez geezee. Question, what is that where the speedo should be? Keep them coming you maybe the resource to bring more ladies into our hobby. Hugs
Correction ezgz is the utuber.
The speedo cable was no longer long enough after the custom spindles Spencer built, instead he painted a face plate modeled after a speedo with the words "too fast" 😅 I'll never take that out, it's one of the best momentos from him. I do need to figure out some kind of speedo situation though
I laughed when I finally realized what the "speedo" was! That's awesome. At first, I thought it was a big tachometer.
I would never change it either. They do make gps speedometers or your phone will do that also. Looking forward to the next video. Ps my wife who was also burnt in our car accident said couldn’t wait to get out of the pressure garment.
How long did she have to wear hers? They gave me a really wide range of "6-24 months" 😅
mi vocho enciende al primer llavazo no ocupas pisar el clutch
How much cranking/pumping did she take? Lol
Not too-too much, but I thought I would spare UA-cam the tedium of sitting through it 😂
Thats one loud fuel pump
I know 😅 kind of helps if it ever goes out, I'll definitely notice lol. It's a high capacity fuel pump with a return, it's the only way Spence and I were able to get a stable amount of fuel pressure to the regulator without leaning out while driving
more a less i'm afraid of mine not being able to start when it stalls
Yeah I hate that fear 😬
@@dustbuggy infact mine did die on me and it ended up in a guys yard for a day until i replaced the condenser and the coil which did nothing till last minute before dragging it home
i just dealt with it twice i just pumped and held till it went
Where is Spencer?
@kombination65 See videos from like a year ago. Died in car wreck.
NEVER EVER, NEVER EVER start a vw engine with your foot on the cluch, you'll destroy your mane bearing due to the lack of oil at the start.
That's good to know, I hadn't heard that one
@@dustbuggyThe "lack of oil" is normal because no engine has oil pressure if its not running. This is when most of the wear on the engine bearings happens, at startup. That said, the advice is crap, go ahead and start the engine like you always do, it will get some wear but thats normal.
